just picked up a 2006 zx6r 636 like two weeks ago and i have to admit that i am in love with it! it is absolutely amazing! me and a friend are taking a ride up Big Cotton Wood canyon tomorrow and i am stoked! just looking for a couple tips on corners ect....I am not new to the riding world just new to the zx family
Don't target fixate yourself into a tree. And ride comfortably. Don't kill yourself trying to keep up with your buddy if he's quicker. Most importantly have fun.
Best advice any one can give you .. ridding with friends is the most dangers thing u can do in my opinion , and target fixing is number two ,, as far as corner tips i dont think any one can answer that we dont know how wide is the street and how sharp the turn is ?? but one little tip i can give u is LOOK through the turn and look through your friend who is ahead of you, not at him
if you want to learn to ride your bike then go to youtube and look up twist of the wrist video and study it. It will give you tips and tricks on how to change your riding style and become a good rider. This video will change your life, i know it did for me. I still watch it
- Ride your own ride
- Don't try keeping up with someone much more experienced than you
- Look through the turns.... to the vanishing point whenever you can
- Enjoy the ride!
- If you're in a turn... Don't hit the brakes.
Ride went great! Perfect weather, dead calm, sunshine, and clear skies! We rode a solid 150 miles and through three different canyons! Sorry guys no pics from today but i will have some up soon!
Good to hear. I think a piece of advice that really helped me nail my riding technique is throttle control. learn how to stay on the throttle smoothly through the turn and you will be amazed at what the bike does. Dont Let go of the throttle/hit the brakes/shift in a turn if you get scared, just smoothly roll it on and look through the corner and you will make it.
Learn the hand signals...got some foot signals too
Do NOT follow too closely
2nd gear, 3rd Gear r ur very best friends....never leave the powerband
EDIT::
Oh....I almost forgot...fully inspect ur bike b4 hand...
-oil should be fresh
- all shit lubed
- everything tight(virgin)
