Going to be adding rear anchor points and use the passenger pegs. Im nervous about not having a wide enough straddle with the front straps. Could have gotten better front chocks but its going to be in the back yard when not in use. Going to finish the rest of the additions and go for a test ride...after I get them insured. What are these rear supports? Rear stand that uses hole in axle?

Only thing I would suggest is to get rid of the ramp gate or make it into a bi-fold they become a major drag on the freeway! looks like a solid trailer though!!!

Tie downs do look awfully close to each other. I might look into staggering the stands and spreading the tie down bolts out further from each other versus having the bikes side by side and having the tie down bolts so close.

Been looking at one as a simple and easy system for hauling the bikes... not covered like my old trailer but easy to haul and a car should have no problem with pulling this.
Would go with the pitbull restraint system and cycle gear (baxley knock off wheel chocks), so no more damn canyon dancers, tie down straps and all that jazz.
Listen to this man Pit Bull trailer restraint systems are the tits!

Staggering is a good idea in tight spaces. No sense in bumpin titties, and chipping paint on rougher rides or obstructions in the road.

i bought my trailer from harbor freight for $350... its the 4x8 1000lb rated foldup style.. i found a guy on a jeep forum that had one to and made mods to it to better suit the everyday use...

i did what he did only better....

added 1/2 inch fence locks to the back half to lock it down...
added 3k lb "D" rings for more anchor points
added water proof lights, just in case... herd the stock ones are junk...
removed the pivot bolts
made pocket hinges for the pivot, made it 10X stronger at the fold seam
removed and sold the stock 1.5 inch axle and weakass leaf springs
added a new 2.50 inch axle and leaf springs from South Texas Trailer Supply
added a 3/4in CDX ply wood deck
Welded all joints to the frame
added a brace to the tongue A-Frame for rigidity...
added a Trackside Wheel Chock

after all said and done, i think i spent $450-$500 for a 4x8 2100lb rated tri fold trailer...holds 2 bikes, tent, canpoy, tools, gas cans, kids toys, kids bicycles, grill, spare wheels, large cooler, and race gear...

will post pics if you want it...LMK...

I would strongly suggest getting better wheel chocks unless you want the bike to fly off going down the highway. Heres a pic of mine when i was getting rid of the harbor freight chocks(which were on it when i bought the trailer) and putting on quality ones. You can actually see where i had to weld the HF chock back together after it broke... The other one broke as well and i put the better ones on(the black ones). Mine also had untreated wood on it and it started rotting away... Im actually having new treated wood put on as we speak...

Neat I have the same HF trailer but am curious what would be the best wheel choke to use? I have two that are skinny... maybe quick disconnect to shove to the rear and mount the front on the plywood in the center? My trailer is not welded yet but plan to sooner or later. Not going to be transporting bike anytime soon - but that "just incase" is always nice.
