No one will be left behind, allowed to get lost or pressured to ride faster.

generally we get a lil strung out, slower riders are at the rear but the whole group makes regular stops for all to catch up.
Also we keep an eye on the rider behind us, When everyone does this, No one can get left behind.

Two things though guys & gals, I would like to see tail lights & mirrors on all your bikes this year.
If you don't have both, stay at the rear. (unless your as fast as drums)

I participate in group rides here in Maryland and there are groups that will leave your ass and some that wont.
On the better groups I ride with, they put the more advanced riders in the front and the least in the rear. The front rider with go all out but if an exit is needed or a turn off has to be made, they will stop and wait for the rest of the pack. So everyone is safe and everyone has fun.
A specific group I ride with has a front guy and rear guy that communicate constantly. this works extremly well.
I am usually near or at the front depending who is riding that day. Now I have been to the track but have never been on the track. Most of the group rides I do the guys have been to the track.
Ok, my buddy Scott that is coming with me has a S1000RR which is a very fast bike. I know because I ride it sometimes. It has a PC5, full pipe, and real purdy but he will be in the back in the twisties. Hes been riding a long time but doesnt have the confidence to use the bike in the twisties and hes ok with that. He just really likes riding. So he knows if I get to far ahead in the twisties that I will eventually wait up. Then again he is a killer on staight a ways and catches me quite often when the twisties end. But the Dragon is mostly twisties and he is ok with it.
The point is, don't be afraid to admit the kinda of rider you are to yourself. I will not make fun of a rider that rides in the front, middle or rear. We were all there once.
So quoting some very wise riders I know "RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE and BE SAFE".

Ride GREEN or don't ride at all.

Last year it was me and Youssef up front. I would ride in back sometimes to watch people. I may pick up a set of head sets for the trip and we can mount them on me and whomever wants to sweep. That's a good idea hawk

But yes, we will all have a great time. Anytime we rode away from the dragon the person leading the ride would stop at any turn we needed to make as a group.

That is pretty much standard with everyone I ride with. With as many as we are expecting, will need to split up into groups. Each groups lead & sweep rider will know the route so we can all meet up in a predetermined location for eats, breaks, etc...

If someone has to stop due to equipment failure, emergency potty break, etc,,, then the rider in front should be waiting at the next turn & would know after a while to turn around & go find out what the deal is. And in turn, the following rider should stay with the rider that stops.

There are other tweaks we can make or judgement calls along the way. But if a protocol is followed, then it will be better & safer for everyone.

And yes, ALWAYS ride your own ride

We'll see how many actually show up, everyone and their brother always says they'll be there in jan and feb, but has stuff come up by the time of the trip. If they paid up they'll probably show, but if they just say "I'm in", count that as a maybe at best. No offense to anyone saying that, it's just the track record that comes with something like this.

Yep, & opened a new shop too, I think he said he still had work to do on the bike.??
But said he is definitely going to make the run.

Also I just heard from Neil (WERA689) that he too is all in.
