I won't be leaving the house till early Monday morning, the 3rd. Don't know yet if my son is coming on the back of my bike and hanging out all week. Don't know for sure what bike I will be on as my #1 636 is tied up in an insurance civil matter and I plan on selling the other two to buy a different house. Could even come in the car but I HOPE NOT!

One of these years I may show up to this dragon run. Maybe. I only know Michael though. Eh.

I didn't know anyone till I arrived. Now they all feel like family... you know that family you married into that believes in elves and shits in the woods...j/k but I learned that New Yorkers can use the "F" word for a noun, verb, adverb, and adjective all in one sentence. I had a great time even though I am 2 generations older than half of them and am returning this year with my son.

That certainly isn't limited to New Yorkers.

I hear ya on the rest though. I'm also not a fan of riding in groups. You always have those show-offs that absolutely have to get attention, and they think those around them are impressed by their behavior. Never fails. I guarantee those types will show up. But, I may make an appearance one of these times to say hello to Michael in person. Show him what a real custom bike looks like. ;-)

hey guys I've never been to this before. This will be my first year. What can I expect and where should I meet you.? is there anything in specific I should know?

If you suck at riding, you're gonna die! If you're really good at riding, you're gonna see friends die!

I just suggest watching some videos. I think pucks posted a good one a page or 2 back. Understand how technical it is, if you aren't used to this kind of riding.

Second ride your own pace. Be safe and if guys are faster so what. The goal is to make it home safe.

Those are rules for pretty much every ride. Someone who runs this can give more details to any other rules for this particular ride. Hsve fun. I'm still considering riding out one day and meeting up with you guys.
SkyChimp likes this.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride! ~Hunter S. Thompson

That would be nice. .......... oh & meeting you would be ok to
PS, we don't all ride together, 5-8 is enough, we usually break up into 2 or 3 groups.

We'll see, man. I'm currently working full time and going to college 3/4 full time (8 to 9 credits per semester) so I'm short on extra time. I don't think the Dragon is that far from my place though. I'm guessing probably two hours or something around there.

I have brought a whole lot of first timers in my 76 trips up there. They almost all want to come back... well really all of them except two guys I brought up there that crashed twice up there in one day... One riding too hard and the other too intimidated to even go 30 mph up there. He needed a whole lot more practice and I wish I hadn't brought either of them as I could see trouble on the trip trailering them up there and knew someone was going down..... and that was twice each!

I'll need to check the actual distance. I'm in VA just over the boarder of NC. It only took me about an hour and a half to get to NCBike last month. I don't know where the meeting point is of the Dragon run.

Yep I've seen it coming like that, when you just know.
