How far north do you all plan on getting? Let me know if you are going to cross the Oregon border.

So I decided to take go up Hwy 1 all the way and took off around noon Thursday, decided to stop by the infamous Neptune's Net for some fish and chips before a six hour ride up hwy 1 and 101 to my campsite in San Simeon. Went out for dinner and grabbed a brew and snacks at the local town down the road before I set up my campfire. Beautiful weather, the sound of the waves crashing down, the fresh sea breeze with that smell of the ocean reminded me of why I love California so much. It did cross my mind, I can't say I didn't miss home but I live alone so there really isn't anyone except my dog to go home too, so the thought easily drifted away as soon as I made a few friends later that night with the help of beer. Turns out these guys were from the Netherlands. First day was an accomplishment, it felt good to be out in the open, that's one reason why we ride right? Next day was not so different except my phone decided to die out and I not a Starbucks in sight. Well I proceeded down the road and stopped by Hearst Castle before I headed down to San Francisco. Woke up early and took a tour of the castle. Unfortunately my phone died by the time I got to the Golden Gate Bridge and I ended up missing the ferry to Angel Island Campsite so I had to go to plan B which was also ruined by me getting lost. Thankfully I met a couple out in the middle of nowhere at my plan C campsite for overflow camping and instead of paying $50 they invited me to spend the night at their campsite. Saved me a few bucks, they were by far the highlight of the trip since I had seen them at a local town at a bar before they offered to take me in. I have to say though, after crossing the Golden Gate bridge, the real riding had just begun, the twisties their tested me in every way shape or form. Especially since it was getting late quick and I had to get to the third site. I felt like giving up, but knowing myself and finding the strength within to not give up and not be that quitter. As I rode through the cliffs two guys carving passed me up obviously locals and kind of guided me through. Thanks to them and the nice couple I made it through the day. You did it!! What an adventure!!! Cool stuff. If you are up for it. We are riding from Ortega Highway at 7:00am all the way out to Idllywild , taking the 74 all the way out. Meeting at the Shell station on the sJC side at 7:00am. Hope you can make it. I know short notice. But if I did not tell you our plans today, sure everyone would feel bad that an offer was not made.
