Hi All

This is my first post and maybe a strange question, but myself and 6 mates are going to the WSBK at Misano in June, the mate who's planned the trip recons we can do the ride in about 17 hours !!!!!!!!! :crying
My question is has anyone ever done this ride in one hit and how did you get on

Cheers

I haven't specifically done that ride but on my ZX6R I've done 550+ in a day with no problem. (The 6 is my first supersport and I haven't had it that long.)

I have done that distance on my Ninja 650 without a problem. I did 350 miles on Saturday, 1050 miles on Sunday, and could have ridden on Monday if that pesky work thing hadn't gotten in the way. Mind you I have a bum shoulder, reconstructed knee, and have had two major spine surgeries so I have to have a strong core to be folded up on the bike for that long.

If you've never done that kind of distance I wouldn't recommend trying it for the first time on this trip. You should build up to it. Try yourself out on something around 250 miles then bump it to 350. If those are no problem try 500 then 750. If you know how your body reacts to 750 then you should be able to guess how your body will handle the 1000 miles. (Your trip, according to the Googles, appears to be about 1000 miles.)

$0.02

Good luck!

I read that and just about choked. There's no question about it, 1000+ miles in a day with 3 newbies is beyond pushing it. That's easily a two or three day ride for them. (How someone couldn't know that, unless he's one of the newbies, is beyond me. And I still consider myself a bit of a newbie.)

It sounds like a hell of a trip though. I wish I could join. Got a spare bike?

Hi,
I wouldn't recommend such a long distance trip when you could need extra time for many unexpected factors, being traffic jams just one among them.
Such a trip in 17 hours truly sounds exciting, but better plan wise according to your own actual experience and safety in mind. IMO I would make it two days and try to enjoy the ride a little more.
