Petrol shortages?

Hey fellow Aussies! I'm guessing by now everyone has heard the news of Cootes transport being taken off the roads for safety reasons? Has anyone seen or been a part of the panic buying? Any signs of a petrol shortage near you? All petrol stations near me seem to be operating as per normal! Hopefully the Petrol companies don't take us for a ride and Jack pricing!

Well I finally got affected by the shortage, had to put standard unleaded in the bike... Hopefully 91ron doesn't hurt the bike if anyone knows? Only put 15 dollars in to keep me going.

Thanks for that! Wasn't sure if it was a really bad idea but had to keep going.

You'll be fine man.

You'll notice a little lack of power when you open the throttle and increased fuel consumption (prob around an extra 2-3L/100kms) depending on whether you have something like an autotune to counter it.

If you can find 95, go for that. But 98 will be your best friend.

Just don't put E10 in for the love of God!!!!

Add some octain boost, or make your own. If using reg gas add 1 oz per 5 gallons of Zyol and a little less of acetone.

Zyol raises the octane, acetone is a tension releaser allowing the gas to mist better into finer particals.

Isn't the min rating on the tank 91 from the manufacturer? So you should be straight. I know that's the first sticker everyone takes off their bike

Nope, the Australian delivered bikes says 95ron as minimum. That's why I had the concerns. I'm back on premium so all good! I just got a lot less economy from the fuel.

US and Auz use different octane rating methods. US uses R+M/2 in Auz they use RON. So the numbers are going to be different.
