Hi guys. Bought an 07 zx6r today. Was checking out my new purchase
and saw at the rear of the engine some numbers. Can u guys please help me out and
check if its stock or does this indicate a swapped engine? Thanks guys

Welcome.

Might want to show a little concern for that chain while you are at it.

I don't know what the numbers signify, but I bought my 09 brand new a few years ago and it has numbers scribbled on the engine as well. I would definitely replace that chain and sprockets though, and maybe look into any other maintenance that was neglected. Good luck and congrats on the new ride!

I thought this when I bought my 08 zx6r, but luckily the dealer had 3 others which i sneakily checked all of them and they all had numbers on them.. one was new too so I wouldn't worry.

Saying that, even my new lease car has numbers and stuff like that on the engine...

hi to my home town - if that's perth W.A.

I can confirm a 2013 U.K. issue engine block has the same crap scribbled on it so it's not necessarily not a wrecker or swap piece.
go deal with the chain.

Yeah you pretty much have to remove the seat, tank(I just prop the tank up) airbox, and throttle bodies to make sure the valve cover is on correctly. Maybe its a loose bolt or the gasket isnt seated right. It's not too hard if you're mechanically inclined. You can also see what shape your plugs and filter are in.

The '07 has a known issue with the valve cover. There is a service bulletin on the issue. It may be possible to get the cover replaced by Kawasaki; or possibly getting the parts for free.

Hi guys. Just had a very stressful day. Got to work this morning and just thought id do a VIN check. Turns out I bought a repaired writeoff, been repaired twice! I was shattered, phoned the seller and luckily he was nice enough to take the bike back. Will never buy anything again without doing a check of the history, He could have said its my problem now... lesson learnt. the bike did ride ok though, might look for another ninja, good bikes. Thanks guys

Wow. You got lucky. Look for a mint 09+ you get what you pay for. No Chinese fairing. Full service history that's what you need

At least it's not a 2007-2008

usually writing on motor signifies wreckers spares. so you may have a different motor, that came from factory, not really worrying unless its not registered to the bike.

just read your previous post ouch, good thing money back. you still after a nice clean non written off zx6r if so i have one lol seriously i do. I'm after a 899 now
