*STOLEN* 2014 Burnt Orange ZX6R *STOLEN*

Came back from home to find my ZX6R gone from my condo space. On the video they were in and out in 3 minutes.
Purchased April 20ish 2015. Yes 1 month 2 weeks ago. Stolen with the bike cover on top.
1400km.

Canada Scarborough, Mc Cowen and Sheppard Area.

It feels like someone kidnapped my wife. man this sucks.

OUCH.....I can feel your pain man, these bikes are like your legs & arms, can't live without them. That really sucks man, people who live in condos are extremely vulnerable to get their bike stolen and this is why I will never live in one. I live in downtown Toronto, house, and my area is one of the safest around.

Fuck those no life thieves, if I ever encounter one on the act I'll beat them to a pulp.

Have you make a claim with your insurance?

sorry to hear about that man....hopefully you reported it to police so they have the tag and VIN in the system as stolen so if they come across it they'll know...hopefully you have insurance as well so you'll be able to get another one relatively soon

when i lived in an apartment..there was no fucking way i was keeping my bike outside for this very reason..i lived on the first floor so i literally walked my bike straight into my apartment..fit perfectly..when the management found it they put a stop to it so i got a storage unit for 80 bucks a month that was down the street...i would suggest one of those two options for your next bike man

unfortunately thieves are the lowest scum of the earth and will continue to do what they do until they fuck with the wrong person who puts a bullet through their fucking brain

I'm sorry for your loss. Check your insurance policies -- this may be covered by renter's/homeowner's insurance, as it was a property theft from your home, rather than a vehicle accident.

If someone wants your bike bad enough, there is nothing you will be able to do to stop them from taking it -- the trick is to make it more painful than some other option they may see.

Good generic cover, an alarm, a chain, difficulty to access.... those are first on the list. But they pale in comparison to having adequate insurance.

That does sound bad...I had my brand new CBR1000 taken (from an apartment parking lot) within 3 weeks of purchase back in 2006. I have kept the bike in a garage since then.

Just curious, did they walk away with the bike or did they physically pick it up and put it in a truck? I ask because I now park my bike in 1st gear (when I am out riding) to keep someone from walking off with it.

Updated photo on first post!

According to security, it was a van and yes I have insurance.

Contacted police and insurance immediately I saw it was missing. I hope they find it as it doesnt come in this color anymore!!!!

But my insurance adjuster said if they usually don't find it after a few days chances are its gone . I havent slept very well in the past few days.

I had an alarm and cover on it, didn't think much about a chain. my bike mustve been screaming all the while this happened. ARGHHH!!

There was a 2005ish R6 bike across the parking lot condo uncovered yet they go directly for mine which was covered.

they definitely scouted it out before taking it. Or someone in the condo tipped the thief off.

Just a few questions: my roommate and I both have brand new bikes in my condo indoor parking spot on the 1st floor. Was your condo parking indoors?

I always lock my steering...my roommate asked me not to lock it so he could move my bike to get it out. He's too cheap to pay $70 a month for his own indoor parking spot for his BMW and motorcycle...anyways, I said I would not unlock my steering as there had been some petty thefts in the condo already and I want to do as much as possible to deter a thief.

I am now also thinking of putting my disc brake lock on the bike even when it is parked in the garage...does anybody think this will help more or at least be an added deterrent? I know that if they wanted to take the bike they could just lift it and put it in a van, and then take their time to cut the disc lock off, but maybe they'd see it and go for another bike instead.

They don't need to cut a disk lock, I've seen videos of people picking the whole thing up and loading it by hand.

Theft deterrents will keep the honest folks honest. Your best bet is to have a good insurance policy that covers theft.

I understand they can pick the bike up, that is what I was referring to, but once they steal it, they'd either have to grind the disc lock off or just unbolt the disc and bolt on a new one or strip the bike for all its parts. Either way I'm wondering if it is an additional deterrent or worth me putting it on every day.

Also, insurance has got me covered. Pretty sure that could fall under my home insurance, I'm insured for about $10,000 and sale of my bike was $9500 new so I'd get back enough to replace it at least.

Just sucks that dishonest people have to ruin your day/week/month, as insurance usually takes a decent amount of time to cut a cheque after something like this happens.

Unfortunately it's a common issue in toronto and around the city,

I live near vaughan mills shopping mall, my buddy's bike was stolen from the parking lot . he was only in the mall for 5 minutes ...

no matter where you are, our machines aren't safe.

I have HD cameras in my garage and around the garage watching my bike, and the property ..

good luck OP with the search, i love the burnt orange zx6rs, i wish i waited an extra year to get the orange colour. Sad to see if go for sure

Most home insurance specifically excludes vehicles. Sucks because I'd rather not have to buy umbrella coverage for my race bikes.
