Started riding last May, bug hit me pretty hard and I did 9,400 miles. Bought a Triumph Bonneville in early May. At the same time my wife also picked up a Bonneville and my youngest kid (22) picked up a 2008 Ninja 250.

When you first buy a bike, you have no idea which direction you are going to grow in; what it is about the bike that turns you on. If serene fair weather riding then later you go gold wing. If dress-up or weekend 'sons of anarchy' fantasies you'll end up with a Harley. If it turns out that you love adrenaline you end up going sport bike. I had no idea what I'd like so I started with a retro-bike and glad that I did. But, I quickly learned that I love the adrenaline and as I got a couple thousand miles under my belt began to push things a bit, watched a lot of vids on cornering, started to wish I could ride with people who knew what they are doing.

Last week, the youngest picked up a 2008 R6 and I picked up 2008 ZX-6R special edition.

Riding isn't enough, so it's my goal this summer to be able to completely change out tires, tighten chains, and do pretty much anything else to the bike that needs to be done. Last year I did a complete fairing change on the Ninja, and replaced the stock exhaust with a Yoshi; but I had to rely on a shop to put on the Perilli Sport Demons that I bought for it.

This weekend I'll be installing a fender eliminator and flush mount front blinkers on the R6; and if time permits frame sliders and swing arm spools on my ZX-6R.

Hard to believe that a year ago today I had zero interest in motorcycles or motorcyling. For long years some friends had tried to talk me into it but I always blew them off. Little did I know that they were trying to help me. But, now I know.

I'm stoked for what will come this year.

From the Twin Cities as well (Woodbury area). I'm on ZG & TwistedAddiction as well. Not on MSNBR

Bought my ZX-6R March of 2012 and love every minute I'm on it. Will be putting on some new levers and grips that I got from Rideitmoto.com. Hoping to put a TwoBros slip on as well.

Interesting information about Bjorn there...

I've been out quite a bit whenever the temps are above 32; the long range forecasts are looking very favorable. The rain we had last Saturday AM really did quite a bit to wash the roads.

I tend not to ride until we've had a few good rain showers and higher temps. Too easy to wreck with cold tires, cold asphalt, and the sand-salt-melting snow mix everywhere.

Me too and its the hardest thing to wait for the roads to clear up when its so warm and sunny

Seems like the squids are starting to come out near me. Saw 4 sportbikes out on saturday including a gixxer 750 whose riders apparel included a helmet, t shirt, shorts, and hightop chucks

Seems like there are more and more squids every year...

Where are you out of? Do any group rides at all?

Yeah, but that's hard to do when all you want is to tear into corners! ;-)

Heard you're sellin' a GoPro. I may be interested...just bought a bunch of stuff for my bike though so if you still have it in a few weeks, I just may take it off your hands.

I'm currently in Lino Lakes but in the process of moving to Blaine. Don't usually do a lot of group rides usually only 1 or 2 other guys when im not riding solo.

Cool. I'm Roseville/Little Canada area. I'm always looking for people to ride with. We should do a meet-up sometime with the guys above and spread the Kawi love.

I'd be game for a hookup on Saturday, April 20th. Meet up for some Wings or some Burger & Shake place. Would be way cool if some place near the Mississippi or St. Croix where we could throw in a brief ride but I'd be good for meeting up pretty much anywhere.
