Moto Guild Philly

I don't know if anyone has heard of these, but there's a few of them around the country. One just popped up in the Philly area (in Bridgeport) and I checked it out this past weekend.

Basically they're a "communal" garage where you can work on your bike. They also occasionally hold workshops to learn about specific topics. They're stocked with anything you could need in a mechanic's shop, including a tire changer. Rate was $15 an hour - not too bad, not something I'd do if I only had to do a simple oil change, but good for larger projects where you want everything in order. I had to replace my sight glass and I didn't want leaves and random things blowing into my engine/clutch, so I decided to try it out.

Overall I'd recommend it for anyone that doesn't have a great working space!

Awesome! Yeah, I heard they opened one in Philly. The one in Chicago is doing awesome as well!

I'm friends with the owners here in the bay area. I've been going to Moto Guild (Formally Moto Shop) for 4 years now. It's defineltly a awesome place to go to for people who either don't have the space to work on their own bikes, like me since I live in a apartment complex. Also it's just a great place to learn!

Yep! Seems like they're the most successful franchise/shop out of the few around. I've done a few track days with the Philly one's owner now, he's a great guy.

I have been bouncing around an idea like this for many years but could't get past the liability insurance. Maybe it is just a CT thing.
