Anyway after living in that antique, I'm sure your going to like the new jacket.
haha yeah I'll have to post a pic of my jacket now when I get the new one in. It was my buddies when he was my age. He rides harleys but when I got my 500 he knew I was strapped for cash and said he'd give me his old jacket if I wanted it. I've laid a bike down with it while wearing it and it held up, but yeah it's old and still smells of basement haha

Questions for the tall and skinny guys here, how tight should a leather jacket be against the body? The new jacket came in, but I think I'm gonna need a large instead of the medium that i got. My problem is that I'm 6'1 but only 150lbs, so I'm tall and lanky. The jacket fits well across my body, but the sleeves are just a bit short. I'm afraid if I go up to a large, then there's going to be too much gap in the chest area but hopefully the sleeves are longer. Any suggestions from the guys that are built like me?

Same problem for me. My Joe Rocket textile jacket is a med-tall, but so far I'm having trouble finding leathers sized that way.

I love getting boxes from UPS! So nice when it has my name on it! Got my jacket in the other day, and I actually really like it. I wasn't a big fan of the collar from the pics, however it's much better in real life

The leather is thick, and I know I'll prob be sweating it out in the summer, but at the same time I know that I'll at least be safe. Feels great to have chest, back, shoulder and elbow armor now!

Today another box came in with.....

my new helmet! WOO! I spent way too much money in the past week, but everything I got was on sale\closeout so I did pretty well for myself. Sorry for the terrible picture (Indoor lighting sucks) but here's the new lid!

EXO750 Vintage, and a gold shield will be on the way as soon as they get back in stock.
Paid $145 for the helmet

Now all I need is for the bitter cold to go away, and for spring to hurry it's ass up so I can use my new gear

New jacket? Year round

Looking into a new jacket for year round riding. I live in FL so the weather will be around 100 or so in the summer. Been looking at alot of jackets but not sure on which would be the best. Looking to spend around 250 or so on a nice jacket.

All the jackets i have looked at are nice but i want get some ideas on what would work best for air flow and protection and to look good too? I like the icon ones alot but not sure if would be good or what.

Also looking into a helmet for same reason, air flow one i have is nice but its really loud and the visor has mad air coming in. Have a exo1000 speed and strength.

Textile or mesh would be the best type jacket for you. I have an Icon textile that has a removable liner. I can wear it in 100 degree weather and be fine it flows exellently

+1 a textile with a liner will be the most versatile. With the liner in they block almost all wind and throw a sweatshirt underneath and I wear mine as cold as 40 degrees. With the liner out a a tshirt ill wear it all summer long.

I can't comment on my Icon Overlord leather jacket/pants in 100 degree weather as I've only ever ridden in upper-90s with that combination and at speed. I did, however, drench my undershirt to try to keep cool so leather might not be a great idea especially when you throw in humidity (I was in a dry heat).

The textile jacket I switched from sure was a godsend in the heat though. With the liner removed and all the vents opened it breathed very well even when walking around with it on in the same heat. That same textile jacket I used to ride layered underneath in WA winters where it dips down below 40 degrees. I have to say that the amount of layering it took to stay warm didn't cater too well with this jacket but just the (full-sleeved) thermal liner should keep you comfortable down into the 50s. Put me on the textile bandwagon for recommendation as well.

I have a Cortech GX Sport 2 (less than $100) with removable liner & love it. I wore a mesh Joe Rocket Phoenix for the crazy hot days last summer but with the Cortech I should be able to wear in all weather plus it's waterproof. It has a ventilation system that scoops air into the jacket for low speed riding. The only down side i've heard about mesh is it'll melt to your skin if you go down but it breathes like wearing a tshirt while riding.

Leather sucks in FL traffic bro.

I have a Shift jacket all black in Mesh... I like it a lot, and I have seen the aftermath of a crash on one. Held up at least as good as my scorpion textile did when I ate it last year.

Shift Air Avenger Mesh Jacket - RevZilla

Example. Mine is black, and I love it.

I'm the forum troll. No doubt about it.

I've got a Cortech GX2 Air that is great in the summer. I haven't ridden it in really cold Florida weather. I usually grab my other textile jacket just because I leave the liner in it most of the time. The Cortech liner seems like it would keep you reasonably warm on most of the cooler Florida days.

If I was only going to have one jacket in Florida, I would get a mesh jacket. It works best 90% of the time here.
