Touchscreen solutions

Ok. So I've looked into a couple of solutions to be able to use my phone with my gloves on. I typically ride with my phone in my pocket so its rare that I do anything with it, but I am starting to set up my bike to be able to go longer distances. I want to be able to use my phone as GPS and while I should rarely need to touch my phone, I suspect there could be times when it might become convenient. There is a severe lack of decent summer gloves with touchscreen capability. I've tried a product called nanotips. Its essentially a rubberized paint that you apply to your glove tips, and it does the job, but starts to peel off pretty quickly. Tried some stick on versions that I found at Cycle Gear and not only was the touch sensitivity mediocre, but it started sliding around on my glove leaving sticky residue exposed. It got all over my clutch lever.

Have any of you tried any solutions and what were the results?

I've seen that and its pretty cool in concept, but they are way behind on their delivery goals. Plus I'm more interested in the Bell Star Helmet with the 360Fly integrated camera at this point (I could see some potential to add a rear view camera capability to that, but AFAIK, its only going to have some sort of collision detection system). That said, I am looking for a touchscreen compatible glove solution. Thanks though.

I added a rearview camera to my 06. I loved it. Some gloves have tips that will allow you to operate a touch screen. The ones I have had in the past did not qualify as moto gloves and did not work very well. You could do basic functions but about it.

Currently using a Sony Z5C. Might look to the Moto Z when the unlocked version comes out in September.

Yeah, I've been looking, but all of the ones I found seem to be rather lacking in protection or aren't summer gloves.

Those are probably my first choice right now. But I'd still like to try and find something a little more robust. Also, I do wonder why they don't put a touchscreen fingertip on the thumb so one can actually pinch if they need.

I've got a pair of Alpinestars SMX-1's, (the new version) and they have touchscreen compatible pointer fingers, and thumbs! Definitely summer gloves though, they're not extremely well built, by any means, but better than most.

There also additives on the market, like this: Make Any Glove Work With a Touchscreen Device | AnyGlove Formulas for Winter Gloves & Leather Gloves

Not sure how often it wears out, and needs reapplication.

Alpinestars SMX-1 ... I have the last generation and my GF got the brand new style. both are good, maybe you can get it on clearance now.

Nanotips seems to be similar. Its a bit rubbery as it applies like a paint. It just starts peeling pretty quickly. At least on leather Not sure how it might work on other materials.

My sony z4 has a glove mode: settings, display select glove mode.

It's a bit crap but it works.
