Question Something wrong with my boot sizing?

I wear a Dainese Dyno C2B half boot for everyday riding and they are incredibly comfortable. They shift perfectly and have lots of protection and I love these boots.

I started going to the canyons more so with my full suit I busted out my old Alpinestar SMX Plus vented full length boots. I Originally stopped wearing these boots because they squeak so much. I didn't care about the noise for canyon riding so I have been wearing them the last few weeks. They fit perfectly it seems and my toes hit the inner boot edge. no the outer boot.

I noticed I was having a little trouble shifting. It just seemed like these boots were positioned differently, maybe a larger heel. But my main problem is when I shift it hurts my big toe. To the point where after a ride my toe is killing me. I checked my position and shift pad on the boot is right where it needs to be when I shift.

Are my boots too big? Too small? The dainese boots do have a much stiffer shifting pad im assuming because I don't feel the shift as much. Maybe I just need to get a different brand of boot?? I will head to the store for some SIDI try ons but Im hoping they wont all be that way and the only way to tell is to get on the bike with them for a few minutes.

Sorry for the stupid question, I just don't want to spend $500 on boots and they wont be any better........ well maybe if I get dainese boots

EDIT: In case anyone finds this post in a search. I figured out my boots were actually too big. I wear a Eur 44 in every other boot brand, Alpinestars are one seize too big. but with the inner booty a 45 can still fit but toe placement is off. I figured this out because I bought a new pair of Supertech R in size 43 and they fit perfect.

How about sizes..

I had to get a shifter with more space with my 48 Euro boots.
Also changed the position on the shaft for the boots compared to sneakers.
Ya, I actually road with regular shoes way back when.

Well, different boots fit differently. I have to readjust my shift lever whenever I change boots as they are never the same feel from one to the next. As to why your toe hurts, that is odd. Typically they are reinforced in the shifter area to keep your toes safe and allow for easy use of the shifter.

Just got back from the store. Figured out what's going on. The shift section is way Softer then all the sidi boots I tried on and the dainese ones. I also noticed my foot doesn't slide down to shift as easy with my current boots. So I'm getting stopped not be the heel but right before the heel forcing me to shift with the tips of my toes.

Solution get new boots or every time I shift go out with my foot and then in. Going to search for a used pair of sidi and go from there.
