Well lit boots

Interesting concept for greater visibility...

Not sure if it's my cup of tea. I feel the price is a wee bit steep - though one is getting state of the art technology for $300.

Thoughts/comments!/?

Meh.

I don't think the visibility is good enough to warrant the set up. Build that into a jacket and a helmet then you would have a much higher likelihood of someone noticing it.

I like them but some racing boots provide much better protection at about the same cost. The visibility aspect of them is interesting. Having them light on permanently, instead of activating with the motorcycle, would cut down on the cost and be even better for visibility.

I like the design, it's exactly what i'm looking for and looks more casual than my A* blacktops.
But....300$+ shipping?? Dream on...

I don't think they are protective enough. I agree with jd41 on the race boots.

I can spend $300.00 on a pair of A* or Sidi and know they are gonna last, and if I have an issue the company will be around next year... or the year after that. Not so sure in this situation... Maybe, maybe not.

I think they would be more effective if the lights only came on in brake/turn situations.

The lights are a nice feature and i believe they could be programmed to light up only on the brakes. But i'm only after the design, a casual looking shoe that i can wear around town, you can't go to a cafe or shopping in race boots...

Plenty of boots like that. Alpinestar SMX-1 (my favourite), SMX-2 (wearing today as they're water-proof), Fastlane, Fastback etc....

IDK, I saw a 4-year old kid running around at the mall with lights in his shoes. He was pretty easy to see. But, then again, lights in your shoes are kinda cool when your 4-years old.

I'm guessing his cost a lot less than $300. Pretty sure my LED shoe laces that I could use as a runner (but don't because it is dumb) cost exactly $2.

There's an argument that a lot of the "be seen" technology leads to a false sense of security (and therefore a fatalistic attitude). I'd rather invest in rider training, tech that improves my view of the road (therefore control over a situation) and predict what the idiot behind or in front is going to do. So far, so good. YMMS.

It looks like an interesting idea but I'd rather have a full-length race boot from sidi.

I know these might do the job too but I have trust in a brand like sidi to protect my foot/ankle if I go down

Kickstarter's can be great if there is comms from the devs. I've paid into many things on Kickstarter and the ilk (Them's fighting herds, exploding kittens, all three Shadowrun games & RimWorld) and have not yet been burned (touch wood) although I suppose it's just waiting to happen

Skully looked interesting but there didn't seem to be development deadlines set in place so I backed out before paying money into it

Totally agree. Can't be any worse than the cyclists all decked out in Lycra (spandex, whatever you call it on that side of the pond = budgie smugglers)

They fucked us over. The product was ready to put into production. Reviewers had samples. They tried to do a last minute deal to get the company funding (i.e. please BUY us now because we just blew our last dollar on hookers, Lambos and coke) and it failed. The CEO was a dickhead. Should be done for fraud. No doubt it will see the light of day again thanks to whoever buys the intellectual property. All my R&D funding will cost them nothing. Fuckers. Cunts. SKULLY.
