Uh yeah, def. tell your bf to shove it! If he's trying to get you push your limits further then your comfrotable with he's the one putting you in danger. Wise girl not to give into the pressure. Never ride beyond where you're comfortable.....and how about a little support instead of putting you down and telling you you're gonna kill yourself....sheeeesh no offense but

I'm Lena (duh, lol) I just turned 30 this month.....god that makes me feel old saying it out loud!!! I've been riding most of my life....I started because of my brother. We were always building things with wheels to race down this hill we lived on top of...box-cars and such....graduated to go-karts with a motor from an old lawn mower my dad let us devour...and eventually moved on to dirt-bikes and never looked back

I owned a few GSXRs over the years but I shared them with an ex (two 600s, one 750....ranging in years but all early 2000's). My ZX6R is the first bike that's been totally and completely ALL MINE though!!!

I agree 100%.
tell em to take a pill, Always ride your ride. It will all come to you in time.
If he wants to help, tell em to ride behind you (might even use a go-pro) & tell you where you might need improvement If any.
But really don't rush it, It will come to you.

hell as long as Iv been riding, I'm still learning.

P.S. Do people ever mention to you...You are like the T-Mobile girl! I say No bitch the T-Mobile girl is like me
My mom is really the only one that doesn't understand and doesn't like it. She got pissed at me when i wrecked it, but didn't care to ask if i was ok. My stepdad is the only one that understands, because he has been riding for years. He teases me that I should have got a "real" bike(he's HD all the way!), but it's just in good fun. All the guys I ride with, support me and some have actually said they were impressed when they rode with me for the first time. We are like family to each other.

I have heard that! It usually comes from people on cruisers. It also doesn't help, that I wear pink gear and have pink rim tape on my bike. lol.

I'm 27 and this is my second season. Bought my first bike, 250r, in 2008. I totaled it at the end of that season. Finally been able to afford another, so I got the 08 zx6 this spring. I LOVE IT! I have about 10k seat time total.

I'm surprised your bf is your worst supporter! You would think, he would be happy that you ride your own and can enjoy it with him. If you decide to do a track day in Ohio, let me know! I'm considering doing one myself next season, but don't want to go alone! I don't know where Ft. Wayne is, but I'm only 45 minutes from Richmond. I live in Dayton.

I'm down in Cinci. I take it you head up to mid-Ohio? I tend to ride with Assfault Junkies now - decent group, good for hitting the twisties on the backroads down in KY.. pop down next spring if you're up for it. Assfault Junkies if you haven't heard of it.

I haven't done a track day yet. I wanted to do the closed track day Brandon did in Sept, but I didn't have gear ready. I know a few AFJ members. Thought about joining this year, but haven't. I did come down with some other friends and rode 10/22 for the first time! It was lead by Paul, on a new 848?

costs nothing, free site.. bit of drama there lately, but it's not too bad.

I Lurrrrv me some backroads.. 10's great, 915 is peanuts, but 22 will HURT you if you don't respect it.. there's been I think three or four peeps go down, in the last month or so... They're pretty good about posting up on the site about when there'll be rides - dunno if we'll get another good riding weekend, but I'm there, if there is.. Not many team green folks down this way - since I started riding with the group, I've seen two little Ninja 250's, a beat up old 6, and.. me.

I agree with this 100% . Don't do what you don't think is right. We want you here for the long run, not a sprint.

Thanks for taking interest lol! I was so relieved to see the Ladies Room Thread because I am looking to get to know other ladies here!

I will try to make this short: I'm 23...riding since last year I have about 2500 miles under my belt. I have only owned my bike a year exactly about 2weeks ago! Never rode a thing in my life until my zx6. I know my place in riding and I never push myself past my comfort level. My bf has an 07 zx10 and he is my worst supporter. He's the one dragging knees, doing wheelies, and throwing up 2 fingers at me to roll on it with him in 2nd gear. I don't let him push me I stay in the back with other 600's and play with them. He expects me to be at his level when riding. He tells me I need to sell my bike probably once a week, tells me I can't do it, tells me I"m going to die. I just say fuck you. I am seriously considering a track day or two in Ohio to build my confidence in corners. Got my first speeding ticket EVER this summer on my bike lol[/QUOTE]

it sounds like your doing good! its always a big thing to know your limits bcuz ppl will often try to push you past them and thats when something happens. your boyfriend sounds like a awsome guy
if he cared about you he would be the one riding beside you and making sure your ok or riding a little in front of them to have someone to watch bcuz that often helps. dont sell the bike, it seems like its something you really enjoy

Hi, sorry, this will be my one post on here since I'm a guy, but this thread has been interesting. Zx6sweetie, I'm going to keep this as clean as I can, but your bf does not sound like a great guy. He sounds like he's a kid still playing in the sandbox pulling on a girls hair. I doubt the bike is the only area this comes up, but that's just a guess on my part.

Ride safe and enjoy your bike, that's all there is to it . I apologize for butting in, I just hate dudes like this. No need to reply to this or anything unless it's to tell me what an ass I am for butting in!
