from past posts i have read that you should put a trickle charger on the battery or periodicaly run the motor so the battery doesn't die, put staybil in the fuel and run the engine so it gets in the lines, buy two stand and get her completely off the ground, do an oil change, a bike cover if you prefer and give her a great big hug and promise her lots of fun will be had this coming summer. i might have missed some things as i don't have to store my bike during the summer.

all the help you need is right in your owners manual. you should read that jammy! not every thing is in there, but how to store it for the winter is for sure.

the best way to winterize ur bike is to put it in my garage with the title under the passenger seat.

yuppers, harbor freight carries some bike stands that look pretty darn sturdy and they're a lot cheaper then others, also and motorcycle store will carry them as well.

Mines in the garage on carpet to keep tyres of cold floor, all i do with mine,is give her a really good clean, oil change,wd40,grease up everything, fill the tank up full, put her on trickle charger, put on abba stand and cover her,i dont start her until nearly time to come out of hibernation as starting her and not going for a good run puts condensation in your oil and your exhaust...

I'm no expert but from what I understand for just a couple of months you dont really need stabil just a full tank of gas and a trickle charger, and helps to have the tires off the pavement.

A regular trickle charger can over charge your battery. You need a battery maintainer (battery tender Jr.) they are about $35 at any local MC shop. You will need to put stabil in your tank for 2 reasons, one is that the ethanol in fuel does draw moisture, and fuel will start to break down in little as 30 days if you don't add stabil. As far as changing your oil it doesn't need to be done. The oil is going to drain back down into the oil pan so no need. As far as Starting it leave it alone, when you start it to circulate oil and get the moisture out, you are creating more moisture with heating up and cooling down of the motor its called condensation.

There are two types of riders. Those who have been down and those yet to go down.

Winterizing already? I ride all year, but still... Fall is a great time to ride, especially in MD.
