Seats are pretty specific. Probably just stick between 03-04

Will any other exhaust (headers or slip ons) fit a 2004 zx6r or are they pretty specific too?

With the right set of skills and a welder and a good fuel controller and tune afterwards you can make just about anything work really. Without any work? Pretty sure they're limited. I know people put 03-04 headers on J's but I don't think you'd want older stuff on your bike

From what I'm seeing in the swap list a ZX12 front for assembly will bolt on to a J model with no mods, am I right? Will it need the 12 wheel or can the J wheel be used with it's spacers? Thanks

I am planning to do this swap on a Versys so the triple trees are not an issue. Either bore the lower if using ZX10 or leave as is with the ZX6R
I will lower the rear to compensate for the shorter fork, and my short legs, yielding ER6 geometry

Understood about the 04-05 ZX10 forks c/w axle and the direct fit with the wheel and rotors. I also understand if using the 05 - 08 ZX6R fork c/w axle one needs to machine the wheel to fit the 25mm axle

How to handle the lack of ABS on all these forks

Aside from the ABS problem it is easy so far

Now lets throw the ZX6R big piston +09 forks into the mix. 51mm top and 53mm bottom means boring my existing Versys trees 1mm and 3mm respectively. Do I have the fork size correct?

Is this still a 25mm axle - I am fine with machining the wheel as required

I do not see provision for the ABS sensor on the ZX6R until 2013
the 2013 also has 310mm rotors - will these fit my Versys/ER6 wheels

Are all the BP - ABS forks the same 51 x 53mm yokes
I think that the zx10 is 43mm tubes and the zx6R is 41mm

The ZX10 has had BP ABS forks since 2011 but the same 310mm brake issues

2008 is part number 49062-0033

...and 2005 is part number 49062-0027.

I can't tell from the diagrams above what the differences are. They look similar, but who's to say without a scale drawing or placing them side by side.

I Imagine if the same website lists them as different parts, then they aren't compatible without any custom work

Z1000 Top tree compatibility

In their quest for dirt bars, has anyone tried the Z1000 top tree onto 05-06 ZX6R forks and wheel assembly?

On a few forums they say they will work, on others they say no. Does anyone here have experience with that?

I am running a stock 06 ZX6R front end. If i can source a 03-07 Z1000 top tree, can they be bolted onto a ZX6R front end?

Why not just get risers for your zx6r top triple? I have risers drilled into my top triple on my 01 and plenty of stunters have them on their 636's

I am going to build another bike like this, but with dirt bars.
Instagram
I want an OEM look to the bars and such. if I cant do that, i will just machine a top triple myself that can accomodate risers. I'm not a huge fan of adapting risers to the ZX6R trees.
I will investigate a small production run of billet top trees as well if I cannot find a suitable alternative, but i want to rule out the Z1000 top tree route first.

Has anyone ever done or heard of someone putting a 03-04 swingarm on an 09 zx6r? I hate the 09 swingarm and don't care for the thick curved swingarms. I prefer the straight swingarm looks. any help would be appreciated!
