That may be...one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Wtf man? yeah go ahead and use a 10 year old outdated swingarm for looks on a sport bike. Shit's gonna handle like a bitch if you rig that up

First off I didn't ask your opinion. second off I don't stunt, race, or hang corners therefore the handling is not a big deal to me. If it was a big deal I would NOT have lowered the front and rear of my bike. I ride for the pure enjoyment of riding and what I like and makes me comfortable.I may not get from point A to point B as fast as the next guy but I will enjoy the long slow safer ride there. I honestly think the stunt bikes look like enhanced dirt bikes and I don't understand why someone would pay thousands for a new bike and then spend thousands more on suspension upgrades and hundreds on where your feet sit on the pegs just to risk laying it down and all that money going to waste. but that's the wonderful thing about everyone having different opinions. I thought this was a forum to help one another out with questions/problems they may have. so if all you have is a negative opinion I would really appreciate it if you would keep your opinions to yourself as I have!

Butt hurt. I don't have a stunt bike for 1, and for 2, those opinions clearly weren't kept to yourself if I know them. If you ride slow, don't stunt or carve canyons, then why the street bike? Cosmetics I guess. You've been here for like 5 posts, you don't know 99% of what goes on in this forum. If you did, you wouldn't be butt hurt over that. You remind me of a stretched busa guy that likes his long straight chrome swingarm that doesn't even move up and down.

As for your question, go search if an 09 swingarm will fit on an 00-04. I know 05-08's will so I'm sure if an 09 will fit on an older model then you can make it fit. But not without some custom work. It's probably not going to mount straight up.

I appreciate your help. Ive seen people putting the 09 swingarm on an 03 but not the other way around. I kinda figured from reading that post that it could be done hence the reason I asked if someone has done or has heard of anyone doing it.

And as far as me being one of those stretched busa guys that likes his long straight chrome swingarm that doesn't even move up and down. Long and straight maybe but not a fan of chrome and the busa's or Gixxer's. And it will go up and down. Its called Air ride... I like to be different. Don't really care if anyone else likes it as long as I do.

We're pretty performance oriented around here so we usually upgrade instead of downgrade, especially when it comes to suspension.

well if low and looks is what you want wouldn't stretch and air ride be an uprgrade? I totally respect being performance oriented. and If I raced of any sort that's what I would go for. but to me the bike being stock height isn't comfortable to me.

In a car, yeah. I just think it's a waste to lower a performance bike like that. I'm 5 foot 7 on a good day and my seat height is a couple inches taller than most 600s and to the point that I can't touch two feet. I'm fine with it, so I don't get how other people get so worried about that

The ZX6 swingarms will all just about swap from 1989 - 2012 (and probably 13/14)

The 89-92's have an easily solved clearance issue with the chain rubber, not seen on a 93-2006 E model but I know they fit the 95-97 F, 98-99 G, 00-02 J/A1P and 03-04 B.

No reason it won't fit, they used a 180 rear tyre from '00 onwards (should also be fine on a 98-99 as it's the same rim) so with some custom spacers you'll be sorted; alternative would be to fit a full 03 rear wheel, spacers and caliper mount.

Shame you're not this side of the pond or I'd buy you the older tail end parts and trade you them for your 09 rear!

zx6r:
03-12 front rotors are the same, and are a direct swap.
- 03/04 gold centres, not wavy/petal type, but direct swap - mistaken - see below
- 05/06 ones are gold centers, 5.5mm thick
- 07-12 ones are black centers, 6mm thick. Also used on the 07/08 z1000
- 13-?? ones are 310mm diameter, so no longer a direct swap

The rotor diameter changed in 2013 to 310mm
Is the caliper taller or is it the caliper mount on the fork leg

Will 13+ calipers fit earlier 300mm rotor forks

Are all the 108mm radial calipers interchangeable

I have now mounted an 04 caliper on a 2013 fork (310mm rotor design) using a 300mm rotor and it fits fine

the 310mm rotors would not fit using the 04 caliper on that same fork, and it would have needed a 5mm spacer under the caliper

This leads me to believe that the fork mount is the same and the caliper must be "taller" for 2013 +

Can anyone confirm if the caliper is "taller" with the larger rotors

Can anyone tell me if rearsets from 2013 ZX10R and/or 2012 ZX6R are interchangeable with the 2013 ZX6R?

I really like these LighTech rearsets (link below) but Revzilla only have them for the 2013 ZX10 and up to 2012 ZX6. But if it will fit on the 13 ZX6 then I'm definitely going to buy them. Thanks in advance.

so I just wana be sure I have this correct before I go out and purchase new fairings. I have a 98 zx6r and wana put the 00/02 fairings on it. I would require a 00/02 fairing stay as well as new air ducts, or would my factory 98 fairing stay (bird cage) and air ducts work.
