it just to protect the unused connector from being corroded or broken. but they need to be used together. the ECU sees them as a complete circuit. with out it plugged in the ECU sees it as a short.

UPDATE!!! ok so ive ordered all the new parts needed. SHOULD be much smaller that what iv been making and be way more efficient. so far its cost me about 300 in parts. but thats ok. iv ordered enough to make 50. for now. so the cost is gonna go up due to part availability and cost for the parts. unfortunatly the suppier i use for the factory connectors raised its prices. so, my cost has gone from $30 to $40ea. sorry guys. but they will be better and smaller.

HURRAH!!!
...my first go with the 2 resistor and capacitor 'fix' didnt work. (05 C1h)

I just added the resistor across the capacitor (I only had a 220ohm handy so used that:
IT WORKS! ..lots of buzzes as the ecu goes thru the servo setup at 'ignition on' then the light goes out and doesnt cvome back on ...in the garage at least!

thanks to all that posted! ...good luck to those trying!

BOOOOO!!!
it doesnt work consistently ...sometimes its off, sometimes its on ....but mostly its on
looks like the 'chip' mod is the way forward, then
