k&n air filter + two bros slip-on = ......power commander?

hey all, new to the forum. i ride an 08 zx6r, and have a question for you guys. i installed a two bros slip on last year, with no problems. however, just today, i installed a k & n filter. i thought nothing of it, but two friends (who do not own zx6rs, btw) warned that i might need to purchase a power commander, because the bike might run too lean in high rpms. is anyone running these two upgrades without a power commander? any issues? do i need to get one? any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Welcome, been popular belief that you only need a PC for a full exhaust. If you are worried about it maybe a custom tune at a reputable bike shop. Up to you....someone will be along shorty with the same mods with the're .02

thanks for the info guys. i talked to another friend of mine, and he said id only need one if i deleted the cat(which may be a future mod). said something along the lines of being able to tell if the bike was running lean or rich if she starts backfiring or being able to smell gas from the exhaust.

yes get a fuel management system. its not required, but will help. a slipon changes the flow. grab a JuiceBox since you have the two bros slip on

I had the same mods without a power commander and never had any popping till I got the mjs performance race header installed. Then I finally installed a generic map

juicebox vs the power commander? is there any advantage to getting one over the other? besides from the sounds of it the juicebox is designed for the two bros system....

juice box pro is much better than juice box IF youre a racer.

if you're looking to beat other bikes on a twisty track, go with a juice box pro.

if youre looking for a little boost on the streets and clean up a lot of the popping, grab the standard juice box.

i have the standard juice box and i love it. i can adjust the settings on the fly. no maps needed.
