head porting whats seen in gains

what would you or anyone on here say is seen from porting and polishing ,the head of an 09-2011 zx6r ..or i guess any year zx6r cause i think typically all the gains should be seen equally ,,i think ,is it to much to say if i port and polish and do adj cams gears i could get 10 more whp with a dyno tune ,,as of now ive got filter full exhaust pc5 with secondary fuel module ,t.r.e eliminator ,smog block off plates 520 chain conversionstock front sprocket but 46 rear .And id say im sure its like 2000 for head port polish and cams with a dyno tune and all the labor sound about right maybe while heads open do a high compression head gasket too

just from port and polish you will gain a good deal of power.. even with all that you have done you will deffinatly notice a difference especially after tuning.. cams as well.. but yeah your prolly lookin at 500 for the cams themselves,, then for a job done right,, 700 to 1k for the port and polish. then the labor unless your doing it yourself.

im pretty good mechanically but i dont wanna chance the motor getting messed up ill pull the motor.but ill let them do the work not me .,.now the only other question is how will it be for every day driving ,,im not worried about gas milage ..just over all power delivery and smooth driving

I know this isn't what you wanna hear, but a few of my buddies always wanted more power from their 600's...bottom line, if you want more power, buy a bigger bike.

The amount of money you'll spend on those serious mods, doesn't compare to the power gain. Sure you can spend 1.5 to 3k on cams, port and polish, full exhaust, tune, etc, etc...for what, maybe a 10-12 whp gain? You could sell your bike and upgrade to a 750-1000 and have much much more power, for a lesser cost.

Just my .02 cents man...

im toying with it is all 2000 more into mine im not sure its worth the gains ,,and ive been really eyeing the 2011 raven red R1 even if i get a left over 2010 with 2000 down i dont think it will cost more then 225 amonth but i just cant sell mine it its to personal to much time and money spent on it ,,ill just get a second bike .im like in love with how the cross plane motor of the r1 sounds ,,its just different is all

I am all for modding to make my toys go faster.. But from what I've seen.. $2000 for just 15hp is not justifiable in any way.. If u want a nice hp boost run some spray... Or get a bigger bike..

But it is yalls money and do what u want with it.. I'd like to see the build..

I've talked to a few shops now and don't see the money as being worth it to do engine work on my ZX6. I think your realistically looking at less than 10hp for the changes your talking about. You can take a look at what KWS gets and their prices.

Kawasaki ZX-6R KWS MOTORSPORTS N. CHARLESTON, SC (843) 552-7177

Your talking about their level 2 build for $2600 and you get 7hp. If your racing it I suppose your going to have to do the work if you intend on winning. But just for riding on the street I don't see opening up the engine as being worth the money.
