So I was playing around with my throttle yesterday and did the zip-tie mod. While I was there I figured, hey why not see what it's like riding with no play in the trottle at all.
So I set the cables to make the throttle tight and have no "closed" play. I'm pretty sure the factory recommends having a little slack, but i have to say, with no slack it's a hell of a lot easier to blip.
How do you guys run the throttle?

Anyone have a link or write-up for this "zip-tie mod"? I'm new here, and I've already seen this a couple times... coming from drifting cars, anything ziptie means holding bumpers together, etc... and this is about throttle. Hmmm?

I have found that adjusting the brake lever helps me a bit with blipping. When my brake lever was farther away I would over rev. I moved it closer and now I'm beginning to get netter at it. But sometimes I get nothing when I blip because of the slack. Maybe adjusting the play may help me. |

Maybe adjusting the play may help me. | that's the benefit of fully adjustable shorty levers I got mine from ebay and part of the lever fell off on the highway, I didnt notice till i got off and was just looking at how cool the levers were...then i was like hmm there's something different about my right one...OH the slider piece fell off!
I was gonna replace it, but since i only use my middle finger to break i barely notice...my clutch hand is a different story...
But since the levers are so adjustable, i have the clutch set so that to engage from fully open, i only have to let out maybe 1cm of the lever and BAM its engaged |

I Had it on my 10r as well. There was a guy on the zx10 forum named riffleman who made them and sold the inserts for 20 bucks.

Little to no slack is indeed best, Custom slack to me is almost no slack,
But you do need some slack.
Iv been thinking of doing the zip tie mod or getting the aftermarket part.
