now how do i do this airbox mod and clean air mod and what are the advantages,,, im totally doin my stabalizer tonight or tomaro.

hahaha... airbox mod is pretty easy... just pull all of the foam and crap out of it. Helps airflow. All you want in it is the walls of the airbox. (You'll cap the one hose when you do the clean air/smog block off mod)

Clean Air mod - You'll need to order some smog block off plates. I got mine from Kyle Racing. I think Driven makes some too. Or if you have a friend that works for a machine shop you can make them pretty easy.

Pretty easy mod that removes some of the smog re-breather system. Here's a write up on an '08 having it done.
Just did the kleen air mod

Reason for doing this?
it removes the smog pump and allows the bike to get fresh air to the engine instead of recycled air from the crankcase

ME and sXzx6rXa will do the airbox mod, but dont have the plates so cant do that one yet. We may be doing the mod tonight tho.

Absolutely not... as long as you take your time and do things step by step you'll find it's easier than ever.

If I get bored tonight I'll just tear shit down and video and photograph everything. I like to get things cleaned up under the plastics after a couple of track days anyhow.

So I might as well pull the tank, check the filter, pull the airbox off and snap some pics.

Nope... 2 different mods... that can be done at the same time if you've got the block off plates.

Air box mod is simply pulling the foam shit out of the airbox. Clean air mod required the block off plates and you have to pull the airbox off to get to the valve covers.
