The front BT-16 is a dual compound tire.
The rear BT-16 is a triple compound tire.
Me personally, i thought they were a very good sticky tire on a 600.
I ran them and liked them.
the last several sets of tires i have put on my bike are the
michilen 2ct's. I think they stick really good also.
I think the only reason why i changed is because the 2ct's have a little
quicker steering. But that's just me.
it all comes down to a person's riding style.

I think it would have to be the 2ct's.
But again.. only you know your riding style.
maybe you like to cruise around and be semi-aggresive in curves.
I've heard great result's from the mich pilot road 2 or 3's.
A little more $$$, but really good mileage.

I've run bt 16's, 2cts and Q2s. I like the 2cts better then the bt16s and I like the Q2s better than all of them. My only complaint was they took a long time to warm up, however they did seem to last a lot monger then my 2cts.
Just my $.02

I think the biggest issue for me and deciding on tires is how long they take to warm up..
I am always scared of that moment when I hop on the bike and as I am heading down the road from my house someone pulls out and my cold tires lock up.
When I leave the house I am constantly swerving on both sides of my wheels trying to warm them up in case something like this happens. About the time I get to work is when they are nice and warm lol

I know when it comes to heat my 016's warm up fast and stay warm for awhile after you stop running. Just my thoughts but I love them and I'll be sticking with them.
