That's what I've been reading more and more. I think the xenon projector is only if you want the ultimate HID setup. Everyone that keeps the stock projectors seems to be more than happy with them.

Hi guys new here,

So I've got an 07 zx-6r that the previous owner put an hid conversion kit in and I want to purchase the stock halogen bulbs so my bike will pass inspection.

I checked my service manual and this is all it specifies:

High 12 V 55 W + 65 W (quartz-halogen)
Low 12 V 55 W (quartz-halogen)

So I'm not sure what exactly I need to purchase. I'd like for the color temperature to be stock and as far as what bulbs to buy I could use some help. I've been searching on ebay but am worried about buying the wrong bulb type. I've never bought or installed headlights before.

Thanks for the help!

Richard

no reason hids shouldnt pass inspection as long as hi low works and they are within the proper color range

Check out some of my builds. http://www.zx-10r.net/forum/album.php?albumid=3114

U can get a good HID kit complete with bulbs and ballasts for about $30. DDM Tuning: HID and LED Lighting
