04 zx 636 rear brake losing pressure or something???

Hi. the other day i posted about my rear brake not working properly and was told it probably needed bleeding. i thought it wouldnt be this because ive just had it serviced and figured they'd probably done it but today i was driving past my mechanics and asked them to have a look. He filled my fluid to the max line, bled it and it all seemed fine. he done a couple of little skids so it clearly was working. then i leave and got no more than a hundered metres up the road and when i tried to use it it was all spongey and barely worked again. there was a bit of fluid on the nipple but i presume thats from where he bled it and when i pump the brake i dont see more coming out so dont think theres a leak there. Any ideas??

Thanks

check the caliper is free to move if its a sliding one... if your master cylinder seals are worn it can take in air without a leak. depending on what is worn. i would opt for a master cylinder repair kit or get a used complete cylinder if the caliper passes.

The caliper does move away from the bike when you press it if that's what u mean. My mechanic actaully made a point of saying there wasn't any air in the line if that makes any difference??

Maybe try reverse bleeding the brakes? If there was air at the top (not yet in the line) when he took it for a jaunt maybe it made its way down?

How do you reverse bleed them? Also my line kind of bows up in the middle which makes me think the air would get stuck there. Maybe holding it straight while bleeding it??

Where they replaced a seal when i got my service done a few weeks ago, a clip inside the caliper wasnt sitting right. He had a fidddle with it and now its spot on. Cheers for the help
