Oil leak help

I was cleaning bike the other day and noticed some oil on the front left of engine. I removed the fairnings grabbed some brake cleaner and cleaned the engine really good. Then went for little ride let her sit and checked The valve cover there was nothing but on top left of valve cover but there is a 10mm bolt with black rubber seal. It looks like oil is leaking from that seal has any1 seen this before what it it called how bad is this?? Thanks.

Retorque the bolt, if it is tight then replace the seal. Is it a valve cover bolt ? I haven't worked on the ninja engine in a while and for the life of me I can't think what bolt round there has a black rubber seal if it's not a valve cover bolt. A pic of the bolt would help or get over to Ron Ayers webby and use there micro fiche to ident it.

Yup that's it does that bolt hold anything inside of valve cover that I have to worry about or can I just take it out replace seal and reinstall

Holds nothing but the valve cover on, so you're all good to go.

Call your dealer and see if your bike is effected by the valve cover gasket leak tech bulletin. I know the '07 and '08 models are (I have 2 '08s, both leaked). The dealer will replace the valve cover gasket for you at no charge if it is covered by the bulletin.
