I have a 2009 ZX6. I bought it new one month ago. It has 1600 miles on it and I noticed today that when I activate either right or left turn signal there is about a 1 second delay before either comes on. I don't know if it has done this since new as I just noticed it today. What are others' experience when they activate the turn signals?

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but since my bike has the surging problem at about 10,000rpm (PC V to arrive Wednesday - hope it fixes the problem) I'm concerned about other things that may not be an issue like the turn signals.

There are blinker relays that cause the light to flash, they have to have so much load put on the before they trip and close the circuit so the bulb flashes on for a moment before they open the circuit again. It doesn't seem like it should be a full one second delay, but half a second sounds about right.

That's normal operation as outlined by EvilTwin. My 2011 does it and I noticed it right away when I rode it home from the dealer, with 10miles on the odometer.

I've never noticed anything like this on my 2003. It seems like this would be kind of annoying?

Though I might just be overestimating 1 second.

Thank you all very much for the responses. It's probably more like a half of a second, it's just kind of annoying. My Concours and ZX-14 don't do that, but it sounds like it's pretty normal for the zx6.
