im ordering a green chain and was gonna swap my sprockets to get a little more torque and he said i should do 14 front 43 rear ("anything else is somewhat drastic")
If you go 15/46 you will get almost exactly the same ratio as 14/43 with less wear and vibration. The vibration is due to the effect of the chain links rising and falling slightly as the front sprocket rotates, and also the lower the number of teeth the greater the vibration. The increased wear on the chain and sprockets is due to the fact that there are less teeth in contact with the chain as it wraps around the sprockets. That means that each individual link has to take a larger part of the total load on the chain. A minor drawback is slightly more weight, along with the need for a chain that is one or two links longer.
most zx6r riders regear there bike -1 +2 so you will need 14-45 sprockets if you decide to go this route.
