I completely agree. I'm building this FAQ between riding and my other hooliganisms. Help from others is encouraged so 1) all things are covered 2) multiple eyes and resources can produce the best product and 3) I don't wanna do everything myself

Could have made it quicker by just telling people to go on youtube instead of signing up for the forum.

Either way it's a solid organized effort. Kudos!

you'd be surprised at how awful some people are at using the right keywords to find something. you tell them to look it up on youtube, they come back saying they can't find it. you go type in what you think would be a common sense keyword and find it immediately.

this thread will be very useful. any time somebody asks for a How-To, simply link this thread.

Definitely not saying it won't be helpful. I think O put together a very nice ensemble of information.

PG you should add ALL of the Exhaust thread links to your sig as well.

You should also include one on Gear... and Zoom's writeup on pulling apart the fuel pump.

Between this thread and PG's sig, we will revolutionize the way morons everywhere fumble for information.

On a side note:
I think there should be a Handicapped sticker or label of some sort that we can attach to the icons of certain people who have shown to be critical thinking-disabled. This would help us when trying to determine where to start in figuring out their problems.

Thanks guys. I need to finish but I got sidetracked with riding, what was I thinking?!

MoM, let's be real. How many suck videos are on the tube of some random showing how to poorly or improperly do a task? I'm trying to cut thru the BS and find solid videos. That and I always forget to take pictures and document things when I do them.

I proposed a short series of FAQ on other topics. We could include an advanced wrenching and troubleshooting and such, but let's keep that organization effort here: FAQ threads

I would like to say Tahnk you to oKayH, THEmistress, and others for posting videos on maintinance precedures both small and large. This is my first bike and I no longer have my old man showing me the ropes and looking over my shoulder so like any american i turn to YouTube! Majority of it i could figure it out through trial and error based on my experience with the 4wheeled things but I want to know the proper/safe/professional way of doing things. YouTube can be dangerous for a source of information seeing as any bean can put a video up so since i have joined this site i turn to those that will point out flaws in video instruction and allow only the best to represent them.

P.S. Im changing brake pads which are ssoo much simpler then a truck/car. Four bolts 2 clips and open up the brake resiviour. Replacing the coolant, and cleaning/lubing the chain on an 08. Oh and washing...must find video on washing...washing biiikke

again thank you

Uum I have a random question about chains, do they go inside the engine in any point?

Very good thread by the way! makes many new bike owners without technical skills very happy.

Edit: Well with good light and better look seems it dont So is there any else good for cleaning chanes than good looks and last little longer?
