Fuck it seems like people change their oil way more often then i thought. I just did 6000 km on mineral oil without changing it...

I am currently using Amsoil 10W-40 full synth. with a Hi-flo oil filter. I change my oil at 3000 regardless, would like to know if this is an ideal oil for what I am running and what I do.

THANKS OIL MAN!
Hi

The Amsoil is a really good choice for that kind of use.

Cheers

Hey oil man.

I'm just about to put some 10-40 shell advanced ultra in my 2000 zx6r with 50Km on her riding to work and back most days and riding a little harder at the weekend. Will this oil be ok? And it's about to start getting hot over here in Aus will probably be running at 80 C?

Thanks man.

Hi

The Shell is spot on for that. It's a good oil and will deal with 80C no problems.

12,000 km?! That's 7,000 some odd miles according to Google. That's suicide on mineral oil in a bike.* They are probably assuming your using full synthetic.

I'm sure if there were a chase, the chase would be longer than a 1/4 mile. Unless we were stuck in a fast and furious movie.

Hi there. I'm new to this forum and never owned a ninja before and just wondering what type of oil I should use as I'm gunna change the oil.

I ride bikes pretty hard and would like something pretty decent. Is it also a wet clutch on my bike that uses engine oil?

Zx6r n reg - 95-96
Standard exhaust
Bike also has around 35,000 miles on it

And I'm guessing engine and gearbox oil are both the same? Also do I use semi or fully synthetic. Many thanks and all help will be much appreciated.

Hi Rhys

Yes, it takes the same oil in the gearbox and engine and a 10w-40 is ideal

10w-40 Bike Engine Oil

The best oils there are the Silkolene Pro 4 and Comp 4, Motul 300v, Redline, Amsoil, Shell Advance Ultra 4 and Castrol Power 1 Racing. The Motul 5100, Castrol Power 1, Shell Advance VSX and Silkolene Super 4 are good cheaper alternatives.

Cheers
