Went to change my brakes today got the left side done no prob but then I went to the other side and noticed the caliper bolt was stripped from hex to a perfect circle wtf! This is my first brake change on this bike which I bought used. My question is can u get a matching bolt at Home Depot or the dealership Or do I have to order thru kawasaki?

You can probably still change the pads. One of my bolts is stuck so I just leave it an get the wheel off anyway. No reason to get it slightly lose and never be able to tighten it all the way back up again.

I'll get back on it tomorrow wasn't trying to deal with the stripped bolt after a long day at work. I'm going to try the hardware store ill just take out one of my good ones and try to match it. Got to get this done cuz this weekend is going to b nice out her in northern VA!

If the bolt is removed then you are lucky. If not drill out the head of the bolt to the size of the shaft. Doing this will remove the head of the bolt. Then you can slide the caliper off leaving the shank or shaft of the bolt. Put a set of vise grips on that bitch as close to the base as possible and get bastard out.

Or you can find bigger torx or hex and bang it in there to make sure it fits properly and use a socket wrench to apply a slow torque on the bolt to get it turning or by a set of the spline extractors to remove the stripped bolt. This has worked plenty of times dealing with hex bolts.

So I finally got the bolt out. Couldn't drill into it straight on because of the bad angle (top caliper bolt on the brake lever side) so I drilled a small hole thru the side. Then I used a small screw driver thru the hole and turned that thang till it came loose. I replaced all the bolts on the calipers so I won't be having this problem again.
