WELL,, the lower left segment does not work. So the 2 looks ODD..
Bright side, the only time I see 2 is when it does the count down as my bike apparently doesn't have a second gear according to the indicator.
WHICH in the instructions say is already setup for our bikes.

Sent the seller a email, 48 hours later nothing. It was my first negitive review in over 5 years.
SO it was a risk, I lost.. Big POS. Don't do it..

First time is a learning experience. Second time is a mistake.
Better to learn from others learning experience's.

Why don't you open a claim with ebay? If it's not working properly then you should be able to get your money back.

The gear indicator showed up. I'm trying to install it but I'm a little unsure. I attached some pictures below. See where it is circled, I unplugged that and plugged the gear indicator in and it lit right up and went zero through 6 then back to zero. Did I plug it into the right place and what is it that I unplugged? I unplugged the gear indicator and plugged whatever it is back in for the time being until I can clarify. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

If memory serves, thats the self test.
It was my first hint, it sucked. If all digits displayed properly your doing good so far.

Second was when I started shifting and the gears didn't track.
Check the piece of paper they sent, or should have.

What I'm wondering though is whether or not that is the right connector that I plugged it into? The part I unlplugged had wires going to it. So I unplugged it, and then plugged in the gear indicator and it turned on and it went 0 through 6 and back to zero. But I unplugged the gear indicator and put the original plug (which had wires going to it) back in because I was unsure if this was correct. Any idea?

Yep,,, it's the correct one..
Those wires were for the 10hp euro tune fix. Fools ECU to think it's NOT in the USA if I understood that hack.

SO if the indicator works. Take a picture of your old plug you pulled out. Take that jumper out and install it on your new connector that feeds the gear display.
It was using 2 wires, leaving 2 open spots, your just moving the jumper you uninstalled and moving it.

I didn't think the 03/04 zx6r's were capable of the jumper mod? I've owned this bike for two years and the previous owner never told me he did that to it. Everywhere I look online they say the jumper mod can only be done on the 05 and up model. So is that actually what I unplugged?

All of the install guides for the plug and play gear indicators say that the black 4-pole diagnostic connector normally has a "dummy" female plug without wires attached to it and that sometimes there are two of these connectors on some bikes.
I'm only seeing one of these connectors and it has a plug with wires going to it, and I googled pictures of other 03/04 zx6rs under the seat and they look the same. Any advice?

DOES the gear indicator work..
DO you get an error code, bike not running OK?

Check the wire colors, look at the schematics. Figure out what the plug goes to.
