Cluster gauge problems. Please help.

i have experienced some trouble with my cluster gauge. it was just on and of for some times for two years ago, but half last season and now its like permanent. the RPM pointer is going mental, and the screen is not showing anything/ Blinking. just the lights(Neutral, high beam, etc) that can be trusted. sometimes it goes back to normal, but just for some seconds. does know what it could be ?

here is a video of it on youtube.

best Regards Thor-Fredrik

How does the connector on the back look? Is it secure? Is it dry? Any busted pins?

Thats the original cluster, right?

^^If the bike is running well, and it's just the cluster that is messing up my bet would be the connection. It's a big connector body, and if it isn't all the way seated, would make intermittent contact on a lot of the pins.

The problem is more likely at the cluster end of the harness, but you may have a loose connection elsewhere..... chase it all the way back to the ECU and make sure everything is clean, and seated properly.

Thanks for input. i thought it could be a loose connection or something like that, but when i disassembly the front and checked the cluster gauge wiring it looked okay. i then took it out and tried to check the cluster gauge by the manual. point 16-58 to 16-60.
the gauge was then showing correct and working, and then started to fault like in the youtube video above, so i have my suspicions that it might be broken or something.

do you know if its any trouble to order a gauge from USA to norway and us that?
how do i get it from miles over to km ?
and is it possible to change the km on the new gauge so it matches the km i have ridden on the bike?

You should be able to select Miles or Kilometers on the gauge, but you won't be able to set the odometer to what your current cluster says. You will be stuck starting from whatever the odometer on the new cluster says.
