Patch a tire?

Going over the bike today, getting ready for a track day next weekend found a gift from Last years STT Grattan run.
Fist bit, pulled out no problem, it was short. The second one, wasn't short and left the same size hole the first bit did. Except this one included sound effects.
Have a day or two maybe more left in the rear. Patch it? for a spare.

Already have a set ordered ships Monday. Thanks STT Tire store.

If it was for the street I wouldn't mind it but I would not run that on the track.

I currently have the same problem. I had it plugges at a tire shop, it held up for a while but developed a small leak at the plugs. Im trying to patch it from the outside somehow using unconventional methods just for fun. So far...no luck lol.

Nope. Not for the track! You'll could end up totaling a bike trying to save $190.

My life rides on two small contact patches of tire. I do not ever patch motorcycle tires, it is that simple.

I did a lot of reading considering a patch for my street tires. It sounds like the plugs can work, but no one will officially back them due to liability. There is some risk. When it came down to it, I tried the plug and it wouldn't seal.

Exactly. It's unfortunate, but I'd rather buy a tire or set, than go down. I wouldn't even use a patched as a spare.

Plugged a few road tyres myself and they were great! Even plugged my quad tyre and was hitting jumps with no leakage at all.

Same here. I have plugged several tires with great success. But I guess that I am capable of getting it right. Not the best option but it works.

Tracks a different beast. You're taking the bike to the extremes and exerting pressures and heat that you wouldn't see during normal tire use. I think PainfullySlo said it best, the risk is not worth the reward of saving a couple hundred dollars.

Tire will be here tomorrow. The set was 385.00 Will have the front as a new spare.
My front still has life left in it. Don't see tossing it at this time.

Alright!

Looks like my super glue trick worked. I put air in the tire and sprayed some soap on there and no leaks!

Gotta check again after my next ride. Im betting its gonna fail lol.
