Cam Tensioner Noise solution?

I just saw on a fb post I can no longer find that showed videos of before and after this procedure. He got it to go out one tick without having to go through the normal manual steps of backing out bolts until it clicks.

What he did was put it in 5th/6th, shut off motor, pull in clutch and walk backwards slowly and let out the clutch. Apparently that gives the bike enough slack in the timing chain to adjust out one click.

Has anyone heard of this? The videos are convincing.

From Kawi forums: run it around the yard and get it in 6th gear. shut it off. raise the rear off the ground. rotate the rear tire a few times by hand. get someone to help so it doesn't fall over with you. this will alow the cct to adjust a notch or two. the best thing to do is get a new manual adjusting type cct from APE. i replaced mine at about 6000 miles. it is very common for the stock cct to be noisy. if you do a search you will see.
