great words of wisdom here bro...i would ride with a couple of guys before and i was always the fast one but there was another couple of guys i rode with i was about the same with and we now ride with a bigger group who are about mid 30s and these guys are fast!. i just said fuck it the 1st time i rode with them and figured ill catch up eventually and suprisinglly they were cool they take some corners that suggest 25 mph ill take at like 50-60 and they take at about 100. So i can appreciate the letting ppl ride their own ride

I wish I was still in Nor Cal to show M.O.M. how it's done. lol But first I have to get a 20 oz can of monster and empty that in my gas tank. What a sticky mess...

Throttle up, knee down and pray!

But just because a person has a quarter inch strip on each side of the tire doesn't necessarily mean that they are slow by any means. It has a lot to do with body position. When I am hanging off the bike, I actually lean the bike less but it doesn't mean I'm riding any slower. I have passed people who are leaned over way further than me but cornering way slower than me. What a joy it was when the same asshole who was poking fun at my "chicken strips" at the beginning of the ride, had nothing to say by the end of the ride.
I personally could give a rats ass what some douchebag at a bike night thinks about my chicken strips on the street. I bust out my track day photos and they immediately fall to their knees and do what they do best.

The street isn't designed for pushing the limits... I'd like to live longer than the average dumbass.

Lol says he-who-lives-in-the-backwoods. Tell me Ray, they got many tracks out there in the Hollar?

That's all well and good that you don't care what some dipshit at bike night thinks about your chicken strips. My point wasn't for experienced riders, it's for inexperienced riders who are intimidated by their peers into thinking that the chickenstrip theory is a legitimate indicator of skill. WE know better, and as such we ride accordingly on the street, but some people don't think about common sense nuggets such as these and could benefit from a little insight.

As for showing me how its done: I can see just fine from here thank you very much.

I'd rather be in the backwoods... Chris hanson won't bother me anymore!

IF you are an inexperienced rider I would highly recommend purchasing "Twist of the Wrist II" by Kieth Code. It is available in either paperback or video. I think the video is better for the visual learners like myself that can't read.

Sportbikes handle the best when they are at a 40/60 weight distribution. Once the throttle is cracked open, it is rolled on evenly, smoothly and constantly throughout the remainder of the turn. That's how you achieve that weight distribution.

Throttle up, knee down and pray!

The DVD's are better. The classes are even better than that. For those who missed it, or can't read, I addressed some suggested reading in page 3 of this thread (Part 2).
