OK everyone can read as well
I can write books when i tell stories so ill try to be short.
Today went to the KTM dealer here in town. Normally they have a few RC8's on the floor but not today
Anyhow my buddy has been eyeing this 2011 KTM 990 supermoto.. He sort of knows the guy helping us just from past window shopping. He asks the guy if it would be alright if he can test ride it.. which i was jealous at that point because everything in the store is way to big for short people like hicky or myself and I could ride too
.. the man i just met, the one helping us without a second thought says "you can take my RC8" so im like
We get the bikes outside and geared up. Thats my buddies ta and this pic was taken after we got back on our little jont.. but wait the story gets better and worse
So for hicky and the rest of your eyes.. here is 2011 i think the year is right RC8!!!
This bike was the most amazing machine i have ridden to date.. The power delivery was amazing. the shifting felt so nice. the brakes OMG the torque OMG... the weight is 350lbs.. the bike was extremely comfy which i didnt think it would be... everything about this bike is far superior than my zx6r
.. the bike was 100% completely stock for now...
Now for the bad part
.. So we literally get less than 2 miles down the road and go to jump on the interstate for a quick jont around.. As we are turning on to the on ramp.. making a maybe 10-15 mph turn onto it.. the 990 supermoto goes down
.. It looked like the super performance brakes got the best of my friend.. he says he didnt lock it up.. but I thats the only way it happened.. he wasnt leaned over so its not like it was anything else.. he was near upright, clutch pulled in ( a no no) and it was a clean road no debris..
I stopped to check him and the bike out.. he got pretty rashed up from not wearing the best of gear.. We didnt plan on riding anything today just looking and sitting and drooling.. He was wearing a new balance running shoe that got pretty damn messed up along with the ankle bone area on his foot as well as thigh, hip, forearm, shoulder, hip and knee..
The damage was all rash damage on the bike; front fender, front brake lever, bar end, mirror, tank, below tank plastics, rear sets, exhaust, pass rear sets, cf shield on exhaust, and the rear brake lever was bent into the clutch cover pretty damn well.. Police came for insurance purposes and to file a report. the damage report? $7,000 !!! the bike is $14,000 bike!!! I then find out that my buddy doesnt have a license, but a permit that is expired by a few months.. the buddy looked so uncomfortable on the bike before it happened.. ok sorry for the long story but that was my day..
