Thumbs down Bad things happen in 3's...

Give you guys a rundown of whats going on..

Today it got up to 70.. Went out for a quick ride on some of the back roads around my house to enjoy the weather. When I got back I parked her in the driveway to start giving her the wash that she was overdue.

I went in the house and got all of the carwashing stuff I have, took it back out and washed her up. Was trying to get this road tar off my back wheel when I noticed I had some Armor-All wheel cleaner.. sprayed it on there and that shit wiped right off.

It worked so well.. I was thinking well why dont I give this Armor All tire shine a shot??

Bad Thing # 1:

It wasnt until I had the whole back tire done that I thought I should check the label and see if its safe for my tires. The label said "not safe for treads, not safe for cycles" so I was thinking if that was bicycles or motorcycles.. and then I noticed the shit was running off the sides into the treads.

So I grabbed the hose and sprayed the back tire off real good, trying to get the shit off. Water didnt really get the job done so I said fuck it I will go for a ride and get it out of there.

Bad Thing # 2:

Had a really good aggressive run around some twistys.. the tires held up fine and everything.. I got to the point where I felt like there were no adverse affects to me applying it. I turned around and headed home, there is a S curve right before the entrance to my neighborhood that I love to rip into (35 mph zone).

Coming out of the S I am usually doing 75-90, today was no different. I straighten up coming out and apply both brakes.. it wasnt after a few split-seconds that I realize I am not slowing much, and then I had that feeling like I was on ice..

My back wheel is locked up.. FUCK

I released the back brake and fly past my neighborhood doing about 50. When I turned around I went by my neighborhood and saw a almost perfectly straight black line of about 100ft worth of my back tires rubber.

So the verdict is in.. I am getting new tires.. Im replacing both and I am not cheaping out on them.

Not sure if I want to keep the stock Battlax's.. a friend of mine said he has had the same experiences I have with the wheels locking up and not making any sound.

...Still waiting on the 3rd bad thing.. the Texans won (I was convinced that was gonna be it)

I will let you guys know what it is when it happens.

Thanks guys!

Man that's crazy lucky u didn't slip or anything and u should get Q2 they have the best grip u can get on street tires. They say that the mileage on them are not good but I'm on about 5,000 miles and now it's time for new tires so get then they are great I'm a new rider and I felt great on them. I found a website that the back was like 110!and front was 140 and I don't think that's a bad price

Well, you could count all of those as "bad", or you could consider yourself a lucky sumbitch.... You came out of that situation with a flat spot on your tire, but you're not spending the rest of the weekend in the ICU on a ventilator.

I've heard of bike shops putting tyre shine on to make the bikes look better.

I have the pures on. Pretty much a year under my belt with riding so this will affect my review on them. I've had some great riding and some aggressive riding and they have held up good for me, haven't seen track days but I did like that its a double compound and all that good stuff. Seems to hold when I need it to and I've had a few "aww shit" moments and they held on.

Tread like seems great so far, about 3k ish and still going strong. Decent price too ~$170/rear
