A good mate of mine Olie Linsdell has had 2 massive crashes out there (one of which he died 3 or 4 times in the ambulance on the way to hospital) He will be out there again racing this year.
From a racer's point of view it is man and machine against the clock as well as the other racers and is the ultimate time trial. Even John Mcguiness is probably still after the perfect lap.

All of those facets that it pulls from you and then the elements of real-world environment and circumstance. I get chills just thinking about it.
But then you see the racers, the looks in their eyes, the intensity; the unrelenting will and unconditional love and support from the families who stand behind them and it speaks magnitudes for what the race represents in and of itself. An all encompassing confrontation of man (mind, body and soul), machine and environment that gives rise to what it really means to live, love, and take stock.
Words really don't do it justice. | MOM I feel exactly the same, exactly.
While ripping up the back roads I to have those thoughts (day dreams really)
You do say it much better that I though.
Do you have the ability to look inside my head from such a distance shocked::

For those that have attended the race......it's not a "ticket" event is it? Like you have to buy a ticket to watch it live? Just asking to see if it's something I'd want to possibly save up for to go see one of these days......and what time of year does it take place. I'll google it too, but thought I'd ask since I'm already typing.

Well in the book, Stephen Davison says, He was waiting for martin to come through,
& when he didn't he figured something was wrong & went looking for em.
found the crash site, He says martin hit an earthen bank at high speed.
& says it looked to be total brake failure. There is a pic of the crashed bike.
Iv just got the book out, It say the front brakes went out, Say's he left a rear brake skid mark of over 130 feet, but still hit the bank @ 100 mph.
