I am giving 3k for the bike, a nice Icon helmet and a nice shift Jacket. The bike is in absolute mint condition.

Your friend is a smart man. Sell the bike to a friend for a good price and give his gear with it....Guess who will be riding that bike once you finish yours. Haha one smart feller.

Haha one smart feller. | Pretty much, haha. He knows that any time he wants to ride all he has to do is come over. His is a lot more comfortable ride commuting around town so I think I'll be putting the majority of my work miles on it. My 6 needs the CCT dialed in and a valve job, just want something to ride in the mean time!

Bought it. Love it. Not nearly as fast as my 636 but damn it sure is an easier ride.

Hey my buddy just bought an R6s. It's his first bike.
We picked it up in the next town over and I rode it home for him. TBH, I don't care for it. It's probably more comfortable than my zx6r. But other than that, it felt to small, the steering is twitchy and it has no balls below 6k.
Oh also, the throttle is really abrupt. I felt like it really punished me for opening and closing the throttle.
The good side though, is that it's going to teach my buddy to be smooth. |

I hear ya on the touchy throttle. This one has a full Ti-force header and can along with a very very nice map on the power commander so it's no slouch on power. Heck my 6r doesn't pull hard till 8k. It'll make a decent commuter thanks to it's more relaxed seating position but mostly just to keep the miles off my Kawi. Really does feel small though, mostly in the front fairing. Actually feels like a 600 (physically) unlike my Kawi.

I don't like the look of the 05 too much but it looks sweet with that 50th anniversary paint. I don't think we got that colour scheme in Australia except for the R1. I think the nose on the 05 looks better than the 3rd gens too.

It's probably the +4 sprocket but I usually do most of my passing from 4 - 9k. The only time I've gone all the way up to redline is when riding with other riders.
EDIT: Oh and I guess I didn't realize that 636's are biggish. The R6 and CBR I've sat on recently felt like bicycles in comparison.

Beautiful bike! Love the paint scheme. I'm going to paint my RD400 something similar. Yamaha competition yellow with the checkered flag stripe.
