In the next week I am going to be painting my tank. I found a guy to media blast it and i was wondering paint wise what i should do next? I guess right after I get it back from media blasting I should prime it? This would be my first paint job so its going to be from rattle can. I want to have my tank like the color of the tank on this bike (im making my zx6r into sort of a cafe racer) with a black racing stripe down the middle. Should i do a base coat in black and then do the rest in the color i want? Need some help anything would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure it is smooth, do any body work now, like bondo or fiberglass. Wet sand it lightly with a 800 grit or up sand paper. Clean it off. Then get a "tack cloth" ( a sticky cloth found in paint section of wal-mart, it removes lint) then prime it with 3 layers, then wet sand that back VERY lightly with atleast 800 grit sand paper. Clean it. Tack cloth it. Then lay down yer paint. Do the same when u go to put down yer clear coat from a can.
Tip: let yet paint can sit in warm water for around 3 min before u paint.
