So this past weekend I had gotten the Daytona registered and insured and was ready to take it out and my buddy from class was telling me he just bought a 2011 zuk 750 and he was gonna ride with a couple friends early in the morning.
Sure why not
So i get there and meet him up and were waiting on the other guys
2 more 2011 750's roll up one being identical to another
ALL 3 had there dealer tags on and one guy with an old ass yzf600 single headlight,banana seat
Im thinking...........
as were talking and meeting each other I find out 3 of them are cops
Now im thinking.......
So i took em out to a local twisty ish road that cuts through some marshes got a nice gap between them but not too big so they didnt lose me, it was my first time gettin on the daytona hard also, so i wanted to ease into it
we get to a gas station and one guy motions me to come over...
Squid:"Hey man, how do i put gas in this thing?"
Me:
So i kinda showed him, and explained all the tips and keeping gas from getting on your paint and everything
Come to find out, he had also melted his headlight lens cover by putting his jacket over the front cowl while he was warming it up the day before and has to pay $400 bucks for a new assembly on a brand new bike
Granted, i didnt know the bulbs got that damn hot, but idk, seemed kinda silly blocking off the air intakes also
All in all, turned out to be cool guys, and i also got a chance to find out that the daytona is a wheelie monster simply because of those extra couple of pounds of low end torque
. Can you picture him with that confused look in his face. You know how u can just tell when a girl is at a gas staion and doesn't know what she is Doing.
