My cousin has a 2010 yamaha r6 with PC5, Full yoshi exhaust and K&N air filter
I have a Stock 2007 Daytona 675, thought i would go ahead and give my comparo of daytona vs 06 636 also in here
I weight 230, and he weighs 225 so were pretty close to eliminate a lot of discrepancy there
we did a rolling 3rd gear pull starting at about 45mph and he pulled away initially his rear a little past my front and then i started creeping back up on him and we let off
he cant really launch so i just say we'll do an idle rolling launch. we both take off at about 5mph and i immediately start pulling away, theres that torque!! and i kept that lead on him the whole time by about 2 bike lengths up until about 120mph where we let off.
ALL OF THIS PERFORMED ON A CLOSED COURSE***BY PROFESSIONAL RIDERS
or some shit like that
And to compare the kawi vs. daytona
I LOVED MY KAWI, thought it was the sweetest most badass bike I had ridden
Then after hopping on the daytona, the 675 is much more narrow, def much lighter up top, a little more flickable through switchbacks and the front end is lighter. i thought i could ride a decent wheelie on the kawi, but the daytona just floats endlessly, and i absolutely love it.
I was nervous that i would miss the kawi too much but i hopped back on it after the daytona and it seemed sluggish and not as smooth on the low end.
Daytona is a very smooth ride, but rides on a cardboard seat so it does wear your ass out pretty quick, but a gel seat is in the works to rectify that issue
Kawi is def more comfortable for all day riding
The kawi still has that killer top end and puts the horsepower down and will still most likely beat the daytona in a straight line
But mainly rider skill dictates who wins the 600 battles and shift timing and quickness so its anybody's guess....but both my bikes beat the r6
anyways, im still love this forum, triumph forum sucks kinda, not nearly as interesting
and parts are way more expensive
that is all
