I was going to get a 250, but I saw this zx6r in the classifieds and it was too good a deal to pass up. Looking back, I'm glad I got the 600 to learn on. Its very agile and it has a ton of power so I won't be getting bored of it anytime soon. At the same time, it's not too much power where you feel like you could lose control of the bike super easily. I'm a bigger guy, though, so maybe a 600 isn't a good learner bike for someone under 200 lbs.

i'm 115 lbs and i started just fine. weight has nothing to do with it. more like self-control.

my toughts

Me is started on a zx6r and crashed it a day later. But in my defense it was the cars fault for tailgating a truck and not paying any attention to any one else. I do not believe that you neeeeeeed 2 start on a 250 nonono all you need is to respect the bike the road and the rest of the world. practice makes perfect before you take it out on the road get use to the bike. that just what i think.

Ride hard or ride home...

I Ride: 2008 Monster Edition ZX6R
The only two wheeled thing I ever even sat on before I bought my ZX6R was a bicycle when I was a kid....I dropped the bike once at very low speed on the back roads in my neighborhood while I was learning the controls, took the MSF basic rider course two weeks later and picked up a full license the day after my class ended. Like everyone else said as long as you practice self control and practice cornering, shifting, and braking somewhere secluded before wandering into traffic I think a 600 is fine for a first bike...plus I couldnt afford to buy a little bike just to learn on so it was either get a 250 for keeps or get the 600 and learn on it.
