i have shitty bt014's on my bike they aren't too sticky its rough to get it down there but im getting the technique, counter steer, pressure on your inside peg, outside arm and leg braced against the tank. thats how ive been taught anyhow. front tire is nuts tho like an inch to go. my rear is about to the wear bars tho, any thoughts on what sort of tire i should get, i want something sticky that will last long thats probably the only good thing about the tires ive got now, 5,000 and still not bald

pinebox tail light, DIY fender eliminator, Yoshimura full race exhaust, k&n filter.

I've been riding for about 700 miles. It appears I'm a little less chicken leaning right. I haven't found a great twisty run yet, just a couple short runs I'm always tempted to ride back and forth but don't because that's just asking for a police stop. As I get more and more comfortable, this familiar voice in my head keeps repeating unfamiliar enticing words, "Track Day". Does anyone know what that means?

I hate Ohio roads, they're all strait. I have to ride out at least 45 mins to get to the twisties.

I dont think my chicken strips are too shabby considering I hsave only been riding a sports bike 4 weeks. About 1/2 inch on the right side and 3/4 inch on the left.

HAve mainly been trying to focus on my technique and not really worry about the size of my strips. They'll go soon enough I guess. My mates rear trye on his R1 are shredded to the egde.

I just got the michelin 2ct's and my neighborhood is like a maze so I scrubbed em in through there and hit the corners hard and even though i still got about a quarter inch strip, its scraped up to the edges...... I had to be careful though cuz kids live round here and didnt want to kill em so had to keep the speed down. My old tire had lil bitty tiny strips on the rear but it was garbage, this tire i got now feels different......i like it

On my Ninja 500 I once broke traction on the front tire while leaned over. I had to go much deeper into a turn than planned due to a large pickup truck crowding the center of the road. I then had to put it hard over to avoid the ditch. I distinctly recall feeling the vibration of the handlebars and sensing the slip of the tire. I very gently pressed on the outside handgrip to straighten the bike and all was well. After I got to work, I looked at the tire and could see the radial marks on the tire that went all the way to the edge. It was a bunch of nice little scratches all the way around.
Even though I don't ride hard by anyone's standards, I still find it amazing what you can sense from your bike. Even though it was only a second or so, I was able to sort out what was going on and react to it properly.

With my 636, my rear tire has about a .25 chicken strip. It is sooooo much fun leaning over!

I'm proud of my chicken strips, I polish them with Armor All Tire Shine.
milehizx6r, izzy636 and BigCat10r like this.

Setp one: Obtain 5-8 squares of clean, dry toilet paper.
Setp two: some prefer to neatly fold while others prefer the "wad" technique, but you need to condense the squares into a thicker unit of TP.

...do I really need to continue?
