i stripped my tank

i stripped my tank to bare metal. What can i spray on it to keep it from rusting.
can i just clear coat it

Is this for storage? Bearing grease would stick and last for a long time.

Mind sharing why?

Go for a gun oil tho if you want to leave it bare without it rusting. Or really any oil...hell, you can probably just throw motor oil on it, but something thicker that won't run off might be nicer...basically you just want to keep oxgen from getting to it

Are you going to leave it that way permanently or are you just trying to store it? No idea what's on the frame, but I'd assume there is some clear coating on it...or it's painted...no clue

im leaving it like that, i repainted the fairings silver and i like the way the tank looks bare, it matches frame

Just clear coat it....pretty simple. They got gloss and matte so u can do whatever look u prefer.

your frame is aluminum, that is why it wont rust.

clear only may not stick to the bare metal without an etch, or something to bite to. ie: sanded/scuffed, primer and sealer.

You have to get a clear for bare metal. Or as I said on Facebook... On the Eastwood vendor the product after blast
