I'm a big fan of making the bike a harder target to steal method. In my complex, there's a Harley, a ZX-10R, and a Ninja 650R, along with my ZX6R. I'm the only one with any sort of visible anti-theft device. I reckon someone will snag the Harley or ZX-10R before mine.

Hopefully my bike, they'll see it as "old" and not worth the hassle, compared to newer models parked up next to it, or they'll just feel sorry for the owner and leave it alone!

Anyone have any experience with the cheap £30 GPS/GPRS modules going on ebay ("GPS Tracker")? I'm tempted.
Simple 2 lead connection to + and - , just ensure its been fitted somewhere that cant be quickly disabled / buried in the bike somewhere.

Another attraction, they don't require a monthly subscription, just send a TXT from your Mobile to the onboard 'pay & go' SIM, and it will respond with the current GPS location (visible on Google Maps or another mapping product).

Don't bother with those.I made the mistake and bought one myself. It responds with the location that the nearest cell antenna gives. That turns out to be a 100meter radius. There is NO GPS data.

Oh right, sounds like false advertising then (the GPS bit, if it's not even utilised).
Plus as you say, quite pointless if the location it gives is no where near accurate / also infact the position of the nearest cell tower!
