No, his partners should leave, start a competing business next door, and run it like professionals...they would easily put him out of business

And without any sort of apology, or explanation you want everyone to simply drop it so that your "business partners" aren't tarnished by your shitty reputation? If you're so worried about them, why don't you sit them down and come clean regarding what they've gotten themselves into?

What REALLY gets under my skin is that you are a veteran and you are flaking on your own people. Hell, even I, a measley civilian have held true to the efforts I've established to raise funds and support for veterans; I've sat through piles of bureaucratic paperwork with purple heart recipients who are working shitty ass minimum wage jobs and are on the verge of losing their homes and their families to homelessness because so many people have learned to scam the system that mounds of paperwork is what is required before ANY assistance can be delegated to them.

If you want to even remotely infer that anyone is hurting the reputation of your business partners, you need look no further than the mirror.

Not only did you completely scam these folks out of their money, but you (presumably) didn't donate shit to your veteran's cause and you didn't even have the decency to refund the full amount of the money because... let me guess... you're irresponsible and you probably spent it all, correct?

This is the reason why people are reluctant to donate or support charitable veteran's efforts and you have the audacity to get pissy toward anyone who sees fit to hold you to your word?

Give me a break, man.

And before we go further, allow me to apologize in advance for my lack of tact in responding this time around. I'm just really tired of seeing people get screwed around... especially when it comes to how easily people can ride the coattails of veterans causes to further their own personal agendas.

I've seen a lot of owners like Scott in my time. I used to be really into the whole guns/outdoors sports stuff and owners like him were everywhere. The scene draws owners with his mentality like moths to a flame. It was one of the reasons I ended up getting out of it.

What you have to understand though, owners like Scott, he's not in this for the money... or the customer. He's also not out to scam anyone, really. He's in it because of the self-perceived prestige and "special doors" that open when you "own a business" (for example, going to trade shows and having start-ups pay extra attention to them so they will hock wares).

The customer will always come 2nd.

If you're hoping for a "Come to Jesus" moment, you're not going to get it. No matter what is said here, you won't run him out of town, and you won't hurt his business. At best, all parties will just go about their way, in varying stages of disgruntlement. To Scott, he'll feel he's more of a victim than Lobster. Because while Lobster just had to pay $15 and wait for a suit, Scott had to deal with the factory, deal with phone calls, deal with emails, deal with this forum, and then pay, out of pocket, roughly $1000 to hopefully make the problem go away. In fact, he can't understand why we're all still not impressed that he did pony up $1000 to come through on the promise. To him, we should be grateful and proud of him for dealing with all this like a lil' trooper.

The good news is companies with this sort of management have a very short life span. The bad news is it still can take years before they shut their doors. Because there's always some poor sap willing to hand over some money to them. Often times, the owner gets bored and goes onto something else before he has a chance to end up burning so many bridges that not enough money is flowing in.

Receiving a VA disability rating is hit-or-miss. I'm 10% disabled myself and you wouldn't know it by looking at me. In my case there were three very minor things in my medical record that, when added up, equaled 10% (in the VA world 0% + 0% + 0% = 10%). Since they occurred during my time in the service they are service-connected disabilities. I suppose I could start a business and harp on and on about how I'm a service-connected disabled vet, maybe post it on my web page next to the flag with the eagle to capitalize on it but for the most part I generally keep it to myself; in fact the only reason I am bringing it up here is to make the point that not everyone with a VA disability rating is some sort of war hero. I spent 8 years without hearing one shot fired in anger.

Mods so far: Vortex -1 +2 steel sprockets with SpeedoDRD, Galfer stainless steel braided brake lines, Competition Werkes fender eliminator, Zero Gravity smoke-colored windscreen.

Randall definitely hit it spot on. I would have addressed it in my raging-bitch post but I was too lazy to find a way to coherently reconcile my analysis of his regard, and my feelings on the subject, so I just went with my feelings. Because, well... I'm a woman and I have feelings... hear me roar!

That said, if you read his response (that I quoted in my response), it really just reeks with arrogant disregard. "You're not hurting me, you're hurting my business partners." It really isn't his problem at all. I truly do feel sorry for his business partners because this is the kind of attitude that we see in people who jump ship when things get tough, leaving their stakeholders and business partners with the mess. Sad, yes, but this is a toxic byproduct of capitalism: capitalize on the opportunities and exhaust every avenue.

However, I won't beat the dead horse. At this point, what needs to be established is whether or not we want to even allow the Lionheart Moto brand to remain on this site. I have a lot of reluctance to do so given all that we have seen, especially if Scott is even remotely connected to it.

Yes, a ban is in order once we've established closure of this issue, but we haven't heard much from new ownership so I'm guessing that this forum probably won't be much of a part of their future anyway.

But this thread will certainly come up in Google searches for new prospective customers.

And nothing of value was lost.

Not sure I can feel bad about the business partners though (even if that wasn't a weak attempt at a guilt trip). This isn't a Jekyll and Hyde setup and it's not like they don't know who he is. Especially now.

Someone like Scott doesn't turn this on and off at the flip of a switch. As I said, that hobby definitely attracts a certain mentality. While there is also exceptions (and a lot of them), I would be shocked to find they are polar opposites of Scott.

"Birds of a feather" and all that.

Yeah I can attest to that, my 10% "service connected" was from a motorcycle wreck on base...

My biggest problem with this (And this is for you Scott) It should not have taken so long to fix.

Its good that you gave the guy his money, But it should not have taken till now for that to happen.

It happened pretty damn fast once this thread got rolling....just does not look good for you.
I'm disappointed.
